When I opened the box, I could already tell this control box was either previously used or very old. The unit was very dusty and sticky all over. The screws on the back that hold the unit onto the Grainfather were rusty and the scews on the control box itself were rusty too. When I plugged the unut into the Grain father to make sure it worked, the display came up blank with just a blue background. I tried unplugging an plugging in back in but it didn't seem to do much other than have some odd looking characters in the lower left hand corner of the screen. Not very happy at all...I was shceduled to do a brew day this weekend and now I have to reschedule. I'm returning this back and what a refund. I'll go directly to Grainfather and get a properly new control box and not have to deal with all of this uncessary time wasted on a unit that should've never shipped. Don't recommend!

I was very surprised to see this specialty item on Amazon - and as a Prime item! A great bargain over ordering directly from Grainfather! The new (not refurbished) controller that comes with a full factory warranty. Worked perfectly.

Huge upgrade over original grandfather controls. Definitely overpriced though.

Junk, will not connect to phone or tablet. I have been emailing the manufacturer for weeks, no help. The controller has to be defective and now I cannot return it. Don't buy this crap.
