Before I used these Adhesive Strip Thermometers, I was wondering how they are going to work. When I put my new batch of Kombucha in my one gallon jar, the water was warm. Therefore, I looked at the Strip Thermometer that I had just put on the side of the jar, and I could see that it indicated 82 degree (F). That was good because it is better if the Kombucha liquid remains below 85 degree (F) to deliver a good fermentation. Then, after a number of hours, I notice that the sticker indicated 78 degree (F), and the liquid has been remaining at this room temperature since (going below 75 degrees (F) might be too cold for a good fermentation of Kombucha brews).It may be a little bit difficult to "read" the sticker, but, with practice, we can easily see that the number that show the actual temperature has a slightly different color.

Brewing kombucha without a temperature strip is like flying without instrumentation. You’ll understand how your batches develop when you know the predominant temperature of your brew. This strip works great, but keep in mind that because you’re brewing out of direct sunlight, you’ll need a bright light source like your phones’s flashlight to read the color on the strip. Other than that, I love this.

I use these stick on thermometers in my Kombucha brewing. I find the reading is accurate but very hard to see. I was familiar with this style of thermometer as one came with my brewing kit and that one was much easier to read. Unfortunately a family member broke my kombucha bottle and threw it out without removing the thermometer. Bottom line, the temperature accuracy is there and the price was good for three of them in the temp range that I wanted. If you don't mind having to really look to see the temp then get them, just don't expect it to jump out to you.

I have previously used adhesive thermometers on my Kombucha jars ... with no problems. These strips, however, are very hard to read (tried all three strips). I found that shining a flashlight onto the strip is the only way to view the reading.

Received these yesterday and immediately stuck one to the side of my kombucha jar, it stuck really really good, I wanted to adjust it down a tad and it ripped when trying to adjust it. In a moment of panic I pushed it back onto my glass container. It stuck again and has been showing varying degrees so I know it is working. I haven't washed it yet to see how it does as being reusable and will update once I know a little more about the product usefulness. So far it's working as described, and like I said, it sticks very well!!!!

I ferment vegetables in large crocks. Relying on the description provided by the product seller, I applied the three strip thermometers around the outside of one large, 5-gallon crock and watched to see how it would work. Zero readings after a week, despite the temperatures in the crock rising high enough that there should be something showing. Maybe I didn't understand the description? No directions or information provided with the packaging. Good idea but a waste of money.

I originally thought this product did not work. Hard to read without direct light on the strip. Shining light with a small flashlight does the trick!

I have this on the outside of a large glass container where I brew kombucha so its important for me to know the temperature. I've washed the container a few times and it doesn't appear to be peeling off at all. The temperature change causes the number on the thermometer to have a little box around it that can be a little hard to see in dim light but it is pretty easy to recognize which temp is highlighted.

I am using this for our kombucha crock and it read the temp right away. I am happy with the value in the three back and will have two others to use for who knows what. Sticker stuck and did its job. the temp colour is a little faint but maybe its to do with the fact it is on a ceramic container!
