I absolutely love my book seat. I get a lot of books from the library and this has made my reading leisure time so much better. I use it for hard cover books mostly but I also works for soft cover. The adjustable holder is great and it stands up well. I can eat, knit, put on lotion or just put my hands in my pockets while reading. It's great for the table and the couch. I prop mine up on another pillow for the couch, or a couple books for the table, to get it to a more ergonomic height, but the great thing about it is you can move it around and do what you need. It may sound crazy, but I thought I would never be able to read without holding a book. But my neck pain was getting so bad I decided to give this a try. And WOW! So glad I did. It is really very high quality so the price is worth it. Highly recommend (for books! Can't speak to tablets etc).

I like big books and still read print copies of many, which can get heavy after a while. This pillow is great, because I can prop my book on it, put the plastic piece against the book, and tighten the bungee cord to hold the book open. I love that the cord is stretchy so I can just pull the plastic piece down enough to turn the page without having to loosen it. This product would be even better if it had a little more structure to it—maybe a little bit more filling? As it is, it works great for most books, I just have to smush it around a little to get it to sit right on hard surfaces. I do think the price is a bit high, but it’s well made, and I’ll be able to get many years of use out of it.

Although this product is well designed it just does not function as well as it looks. I gave up on it but my wife uses it while reading Ipad in bed.

I have to say that I am rarely delighted with a purchase! However the bookseat Just makes me happy. It works like it’s some sort of design engineering marvel. So light weight yet it never tips over. Seems to have some sort of magical properties to keep it balanced even when I wiggle around. Holds all sizes of books and tablets and each one seems to fit just fine. The book holder/bar tilts down so you can easily turn your pages With no irritation. You can literally get under the covers all the way up to your neck and easily read your book only to bring your arm out to flip the page. It’s easy to position to lineup with my bifocals. I really just can’t say enough about how perfect it is! It’s worth every penny especially if you read for a while every night.

We were skeptical but these are awesome (we bought two). I had a lot of questions about it before purchasing, so in this review I try to cover those for you.We have the blue and the purple. The light blue one is similar in color to a light-wash pair of blue jeans. The purple is similar in color to a medium to dark amethyst gemstone.The bottom and back are almost one piece the way the item is filled with beads. It is very lightweight. It is comfortable in your lap in any position. I was surprised that they really do stay in place while you are reading, even for several hours, regardless of how you sit or lie down. They conform to your position and easily readjust if you squirm. If you do not support the back of this it still remains upright as placed. Fatigue is greatly reduced in prolonged reading.The books I used for this were medium to large heavy leather-bound books. This would indicate most of what you would find in a chain bookstore would work well with these. The standard American high school textbooks (in my opinion are extra-large) do fit on the 'seat' but the balance is thrown off. I would not recommend this for extra-large books (but a larger version of this particular item would probably be ideal).In addition to the beads there are three stiff pieces of what appears to be plastic sewn into the front. The method of sewing keeps the plastic in place creating the perfect concave place for a traditional book. They are what keep the depression perfect for the book. I wet mine a bit to see if it was cardboard or paper underneath but it did not get soft, hence the belief it is plastic.The piece of material on the top is a loop to hang it up should you choose to keep it away from your cat ;). The loop is sturdy.The pocket in the back is perfect for a pair of reading glasses. It has a velcro closure. A pair of curved sports sunglasses I have do not fit in that pocket, nor would most modern cell phones.I do not care for using a tablet or iPad with this item. The fit and the balance with flat electronics is poor.The elastic and the button holding an acrylic strip at the bottom is of good quality and easily adjusted. Even with arthritis the button is not too difficult to reposition. Tightening the acrylic strip is what locks in the book and keeps the balance I referred to. The mechanism is quite secure.Overall, excellent design and good quality.

This baby is stayin with me!The fabric is a soft moleskin or faux suede.Yes, it holds up a kindle.Yes, it holds up thick books too.Ive used it on 700 page hard back books; it holds them just fine.You'll notice a plastic "lip" at the front that can be adjusted to fit just about any width book (maybe not oversized huge text books or coffee table books but you get the idea) buy pulling the toggle. By the way, you don't need to lift your book to turn a page, just flip the plastic lip down and turn .OillaTo Weight or not to Weight:Some people suggested throwing a handful of marbles into the stuffing to weigh the pillow down for heavier books and I fully expected to have to do this. But in the end it doesn't need it. I use it on my lap, hugging it like a pillow but even if I leave it standing (with book or kindle) on the couch or table it holds upright just fine. So it's your call. Yes, the tag says DO NOT OPEN ON FEAR OF DEATH (or something like that) but seriously, unless you're going to inhale the beads, it's really a non issue.Would I buy it again?Yes, I would and I HAVE.After using it for a couple of hours I went back on Amazon and bought one for my daughter (who kept stealing mine) and my sister (who likes to read in bed).LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!
