The Darbuka’s sound is great. I’m only giving it 4 stars because the bag backpack straps immediately tore off at the bottom of the bag. I had to order a new bag for it. The drum is great for drum circles.

I got the copper/clear variant of this drum, and it's really very nice looking-- the copper color is great, as is the texture of it, and the clear head almost looks like a mirror surface with light shining off it. Out of the box, the head was FULLY tightened down-- so much so that I couldn't really get much tone out of it. Once loosened a bit and tuned, it's better, and provides more of the tone I expected from such a drum-- but overall it's just a little bit underwhelming. I'm not sure if I would have preferred something more traditional looking, or maybe a "leather" drum head-- but this drum is a little bit "cold", much like its metal finish.Don't get me wrong-- it's really a nice drum, and has a nice sound-- and I like it very much-- but I'm not in love with it. For what it is, it looks really cool and sounds pretty good.

Wow, this works great for adding to the mix. Much different sound than a Cajuan. Works for any small band without a heavy drummer. I've used this at church and small gigs. Lots of fun to play. It has a pleasant sound quality. And the added case makes it easy to throw in the back of my car.

This drum is so kick-ass! It is beautiful and the sound is just, sublime!I have tried to upload the audio of my son playing it, but it has not worked.My son was born legally blind and has been able to tap into music and the sounds ata very young age.He is in college to become a 'Music Therapist'.He has conquered all string instruments.But with what he wants to major in; he has to expand.He felt SO comfortable with this drum: how cool is that?!His cousins play "drums"; but not like this one.This is a GEM of a drum!If you would like the "audio" of him playing, then message,I tried several times to upload

This doumbek/darbuka sounds as it should, with a deep bass on the center of the head and a tight sharp tone on the sides. It is heavy (which is good for the resonance) and beautiful looking. I am fully happy.

This Darbuka is just amazing. It is very well made and produces a very nice and loud sound. It includes an extra head and a wrench to install or tighten the existing one. The case is well padded and protects the Darbuka very well.
