I had an older one that stopped working after I'd had it (found it) for about 12 years. This one looks a bit better, and is just as light-weight and handy as the old one had been. It's hard to convey how much I like it.

My son needed a simple calculator for his Science regents this year and I decided on this one mainly bc I trust the brand Texas Instruments - upon arrival I was happy to see it was the perfect size and just what he needed!

I had to take an VERY important test for my career and needed a small NON SOLAR - BATTERY operated ONLY calculator.I found only a few small “battery” calculators on Amazon and ordered 2 different models of them - but when they came they had a solar power strip - exactly what I didn’t want. The instructions said it was Dual Powered, but when I tried using the calculator in a windowless room (to simulate test conditions), neither calculator worked. I tried “charging” the battery of the solar calculators on a bright window sill but that didn’t work either.I don’t know why it was so hard to find a simple small non-solar power calculator on Amazon - but when I finally found this small Texas Instruments battery-only calculator it was PERFECT for my needs!This calculator was easy to use, reliable, and the perfect size for what I needed. Read the back of the box for hidden functions like the square of a number.I passed my test by the way - and I’m glad I didn’t have to waste any more time worrying about if the calculator would function in low light or not.
