Same calculator that I had that worked for 40 years before giving out. Works great.

I bought this to take a state licensure exam. I needed a basic, no frills, calculator. This is super small and with everyone having cell phones there’s really no need to have a calculator, but if you need one for an exam that has no bells and whistles. This is a great choice. It is very lightweight. I have misplaced and found it already because it is so small. Again this is great if you need to have a small plain calculator for an exam. I recommend it.

I wanted a basic calculator that was NOT solar powered. This one filled the bill, and at an extremely low price.

It works. It is very basic, no scientific functions ecxept square root. It is an exact replacement to the same model calculator I bought before. The only difference is that it cost me 3¢ more than it did 18 years ago.

You can do better by shopping in store. I was a bit disappointed.

This calculator is really small (probably my fault for not reading dimensions) I bought it to use at work and it's too small for the tasks I bought it for unfortunately.

I must say this calculator was way smaller than I expected it to be. Great for maybe kids in elementary school but for an adult it’s way too small. I needed to purchase a calculator for a state exam and I wanted something that I didn’t have to have trouble using or seeing the numbers. For me it had al the basic functions I needed but the size and small screen I didn’t like too much. But for the price I guess I can’t complain too much.

I bought this calculator after my dollar store brand died after about 16 years so I am really hoping this Sharp brand will do the same for me. It's nice and small, fits into my palm nicely. The screen is a good size for easy reading. Paid $7 which is no problem. Buttons are a good size too.

I bought my first ElsiMate in 1993. Sometime in 2018 I started to worry that the battery might run out, so I bought a replacement. Sure enough, the battery ran out in late 2019 after lasting a mere 26 years, actually closer to 27.During those 27 years, I used the ElsiMate a lot, maybe not every day, but certainly several times a week, mostly to crunch money numbers. Never even came close to failing, never had the slightest problem. Worked faithfully, year after year, decade after decade. I intend to replace the battery. Meanwhile I have my brand-new ElsiMate, which worked perfectly out of the box of course. If you want a simple calculator to do simple numbers, and never have to worry about it breaking or running out of battery for a loooooong time, this is it. Highly recommended.Update: March 2020. It looked like the battery had run out, but the calculator started working again and worked for several more months. Finally it started giving unusual display results. I replaced the battery but it had no effect, so it must have been the LCD monitor that conked out, not the battery. So, after 27 years, the calculator has finally given out, but believe it or not the original battery still has juice, it's the display that finally stopped working. I would say I got good value!

I give these calculators to students that have forgotten to bring calculators to my finance exams. I wanted calculators that were cheap but functional. These calculators meet my objectives. The keys aren't too small though the calculator is small (portable). One mistake that I made is that I thought that the calculator was solar powered. It's not solar powered and uses hearing-aid type batteries. I have to be careful to turn the calculators off when I put them away. My sense is that it is easy for them to start if they are jostled in a bag. When the batteries die, I will replace these calculators with solar powered calculators.
