worked exactly as expected. This was plug and play, no drivers needed. All my synths worked fine with it. Note that all this does is hook your pc up to a 5-pin MIDI synth; it does not convert USB MIDI to DIN MIDI, for that you’d need some sort of MIDI host, like a laptop or Raspberry Pi, in addition to this interface.

I was thinking to buy the original Roland version of this but I don't really know how much I will even use the MiDi connection so just got this one to see what would happen and it worked fine. I had to plug the "out" in the "in" on the keyboard but thinking about it I suppose one would expect to do that.Connected my Roland EP-760 to the Linux machine using USB and played around with the PianoBooster app just fine.

So easy to use, I literally plugged the Midi in and out connectors to the back of my digital piano, opened LogicPro on my Macintosh, and immediately started recording through it. No set-up or configuration. It works on my older Mac Intel Tower, and my brand new M4. Very satisfied!

I've been a musician for over two and a half decades. In my late teens/early twenties I had quite the set-up. I was a one man band. DIY or die! Very MIDI based music. Made several albums saved on to my computer. Then the CPU crashed and my heart broke. Gave away, sold, lost, equipment. Now, I'm trying to get back into the game. But extremely busy with work and the kids. Can't wait (more than a decade) to use this product! Oh yeah! Wire came quick. Great price.

This review is for the TENINYU USB to MIDI Cable Converter 2 in 1 PC to Synthesizer Music Studio Keyboard Interface Wire Plug Controller Adapter Cord (ASIN: B07L8KFYBK).I have now tried two and neither one worked. I connected the first one to the 'brain' for an electronic drum kit. The computer did recognize the interface and the power light came on but neither one of the data lights showed activity. I tried reversing the MIDI connectors and it still wouldn't pass data. Just to be sure the 'brain' was actually sending data I connected it to a different MIDI interface that I know works and sure enough, it wasn't the brain. I returned the first one and received a replacement a couple of days later (kudos to Amazon for the fast turn around). Same test, same results. I tried the interface on the drum 'brain' as well as two other keyboards that I use MIDI with extensively and are known to work properly in a MIDI environment and still no go.For geeks: This device is recognized by Win10 and shows up properly in Device Manager. It uses a generic driver and there is no other driver available on the TENINYU website. It is also recognized by Reaper (the DAW I use) but even after properly configuring the interface for use in Reaper, selecting the device as MIDI input for a track and readying the track for recording no data is being received. I am mainly interested in getting the MIDI info from a drum brain into Reaper, not playing back MIDI info to the brain. Once the MIDI info from the drum kit is recorded I will be playing it back and sending it to other synths, both hardware and software based. Because of this, I didn't really test the ability to send MIDI info through this interface from the computer to the drum 'brain'. I used usbdeview to see the USB connection information and also to remove instances of the interface before trying some other troubleshooting thing. There were also numerous reboots. I also tried a couple of different computers, just in case that had something to do with the failure to communicate. Finally, I don't think this is user error. While MIDI isn't particularly friendly, I've been working with it since the early '80s and understand its idiosyncrasies well.In the end, I spent as much time as I could on this and can't waste anymore, so they both are being returned and I'll have to find a better, working solution.

The instructions say that the plug end labeled "IN" should be connected to the MIDI Out on your unit, and the plug end labeled "OUT" should be connected to the MIDI In on your unit.I did this, and no data would transfer at all. No lights on the unit lit up either. Then I put the IN to the MIDI In and the OUT to the MIDI Out, and it worked perfectly. Lights on unit and everything. Was able to back up the presets data from my Mesa/Boogie TriAxis preamp. After I replace the battery, I'll be able to use the cable in the opposite direction.

I purchased this as a test to find out what was disrupting my drum recordings and for 10$ it works great. I just wish it were a bit longer.

Wife needed a MIDI cable to help with her iPad piano lessons, and this works perfectly. It Durant charge the iPad, but that’s not critical. She reports that the app works much better than it did with using the microphone to detect her playing. Just connect and start up the app, easy peasy.

I use this cable to send MIDI instructions from DAW software installed on my PC to Digitech Whammy 4 pedal and it seems to work very good. Need to connect cable MIDI OUT into Whammy MIDI IN. No PC drivers required. Studio One software recognized it immediately. Cable quality is acceptable. Hopefully it will last for long.
