I bought it to check the water temperature when I give my 7 month grandson a bath. My cat loves to chase the red dot.

Bought it in 2016. Still works well to this day. Not heavily used but used on occasion. Not entirely sure how precise it works but works well enough within range for what I use it for.

Very basic temp gun but has been just about as accurate as others that came with a much higher price tag.

Great product! Great price! Easy to use, works exactly as expected. Very accurate! I had to find a way to prove how cold the wood floor was in my kitchen, because my feet were freezing within moments & I had to always put my shoes on to go into my kitchen! Something wasn’t right! Sure enough, floors were 53-64*F from one side to the other and House was at a toasty 71*F. It’s really a lot of fun to use, my husband and I have been finding fun was to use it all over the house! Fascinating gadget and TOTALLY worth the price! Definitely a handy tool to have around the house!

Great technology for small price, seems accurate, but weak housing & trigger broke. Liked this so bought 6 more for stocking stuffers. My battery compartment cover broke after a couple of uses - no problem, just taped the cover shut. Then after a few months and approx 40 - 50 uses / measurements, trigger jammed - it's crooked & won't budge. Since it's unusable, I may try to get it apart & fix it.

I teach classes on food and wine, and of the exercises that I do with classes is to identify temperature differences in the mouth. That is, we will take temperature of mouth and wine/food temperature, then note differences in flavor profiles. I have been using stick thermometers, but this is faster, more accurate, and easier. There's no waiting for it to come up to temp; the reading is immediate. And then, once I had it laying around the house, I started to realize all of the other things that I could use it for. I use it when I'm making cheese, I use it when I'm tasting wine for reviews, I use it for my fish tank, soups, breads – everything.I even had some friends over recently where we just started testing the temperature of everything around the house. Also -- because there's a visible laser point -- it works great as a cat toy.

I got this little thing out of curiosity and I love it! Took it backpacking with me, and not only did it not die in my backpack but I'm pretty sure its temperature readings were accurate. I use it around the house all the time just to see what areas of the house are warmer/colder than others, and it lines up pretty well with my thermostat's readings. I also use it to check on the warm and cool sides of my snake tank, and unless the tank's thermometer is wrong it's accurate for that as well. This is a fun little gadget. I wouldn't hold it to complete accuracy, but it'll give you a really good idea of the temperatures you're trying to read. I haven't had any problems with it so far, and I've had it for a few months now (battery is lasting pretty long! haven't changed those yet). If you need very specific measurements, this might not be for you, but if you're just generally curious like me this is a great purchase.
