I had previously purchased a cast aluminum step that attached with the ball (not from TEMCo). I replaced it twice. The TEMCo 2” Trailer Hitch Step installs as easily, feels more solid, and has managed to withstand my attempts to break it or chip the finish by backing into obstructions, dropping trailer tongues, and general mis-loading. It has an anti-rattle feature, which wasn’t important to me, but which also allows slight placement adjustment.It is slip-resistant (verified in the rain) and it looks like it belongs on my truck.

I wish the steps were a tiny bit bigger but aside from that everything n is good. It doesn't move around holds steady and firm seems like good metal. I've only had it for 2 weeks, so i can't say whether it's quick to rust. If it does I'll edit the review. As of now it's worth it's cost.

Great addition for those of us getting older who still want to be able to hop up on the bumper to look in our camper shell. Went on my Dodge Ram 2017 1500 with no problems in short order. Instructions were thorough and the stabilizer is really beefy.

The product arrived on time, and very well packaged. The step and hardware are heavy, and feel extremely sturdy. Note that if your hitch post only has a single hole (common on basic and factory supplied hitches), you MIGHT need to do a bit of grinding to make clearance for the step's collar to sandwich between your hitch head and the receiver on your vehicle. Or, of course, you can just use/buy a hitch with multiple holes and it will install easily without modification. I opted to do a bit of grinding with a dremel since my single hole hitch left me needing a little less that 1/16" of additional clearance to be able to insert the hitch pin. It was a small bit of extra work (mostly just rounding a few edges to get the hitch and step to fit together tighter), but the results were a PERFECT fit - the step nearly feels like it is welded on, and the anti-rattle bracket was unnecessary. I want to make it clear however, that this is NOT a defect or flaw in the design of this step - in the item description it details how much space is required to accommodate the collar of the step. On another note, it is perfectly positioned with the correct amount of drop to not block the licence plate on a '22-'23 Ford Maverick. Highly recommend this product.
