About this item

  • 90-Tooth Gear – Our fine-tooth ratchet requires only a 4-degree swing arc
  • Ultra-Compact Head – Unlike conventional "low profile" designs that focus on controlling only the thickness of the head, we reduced the size in every dimension: height, width, and length
  • Single, Half-Moon Pawl – Maintains 9 teeth engaged with the gear at all times, ensuring that it won't slip or skip under stress
  • Proof Torque – Our ratchets meet (and most far exceed) the industry standard for Proof Torque, a measure of strength verified by a single-cycle test that applies torque until the specified value is reached without failure or any permanent deformation
  • Sleek, Comfortable Handle – The handle's finger groove has pronounced interior edges for traction and control for any finger placement

Tekton 1/2 inch drive ratchets have a 90-tooth gear that produces a working swing arc of 4 degrees. The single half-moon pawl maintains 9 teeth engaged with the gear at all times, ensuring that it won't slip or skip under stress. The quick-release drive tang retains sockets with a spring-actuated detent ball—press the release button to easily add to or drop sockets from the drive tang. The handle's finger groove has pronounced interior edges for traction and control with any finger placement. The pommel at the end of the handle keeps your hand from slipping off and is rounded for comfort. Unlike conventional "low profile" designs that focus on controlling only the thickness of the head, we reduced the size in every dimension: length, width, and height. Tekton ratchets meet (and most far exceed) the industry standard for proof torque, a measure of strength verified by a single-cycle test that applies torque until the specified value is reached without failure or any permanent deformation.

I use this on all my Hondas when turning the engine (crankshaft) by hand after installing a water pump, before starting the vehicle. Without it, it’ll be strenuous and tiring to do. Thanks Tekton!

Very good ratchet. I would highly recommend most any tool from tekton. They are great quality and have a fantastic warranty process

I like the quick release button on this. Makes getting the sockets off a lot easier. Simple yet tough, I really like this additional tool at my disposal. Can't beat it for the money. The ratcheting mechanism just feels like it locks in good.

90 klick gör att det är lätt att skriva även om det är trångt. Bra kvalitetskänsla, har hållit för ett par rejäla test för påfrestning.

This is a great tool at a fraction of the price compared to snap-on or gearwrench. Long handle provides plenty of leverage for large or stuck fasteners. The quick disconnect is also nice , for when your hands are greasy. I would buy again, although I don't think I'll have to. Quality seems great. I have already put this tool to good use.

Product started to malfunction after a few months, front plate has started to protrude, out of return period so amazon will not help, and tekton won't warranty because I am in Australia, I would not recommend.

Works better than I thought, put it through its paces and put all my weight on it until it was bending, ratchet mechanism held up well... this tool makes certain jobs so much easier. Even if it breaks in a year replacing the ratchet gears is easy and affordable, Tekton is my new favorite tool brand!Update: 8/7/21: you get what you pay for, broke in one year of using it maybe once a week. When you put all yours weight on it(160lbs) it bends a lot. Honestly I though it would break in the first month but it impressed me lasting a year. Needless to say even though I bought a new gear set($11) it’s going to the back of my tool box, might be useful for applications with very tight spaces but I went ahead and invested in a snap on flex head locking 25” 1/2 drive ratchet that will last the remainder of my career as a mobile tech LORD willing. This is a good ratchet for beginning mechanics or diy’ers but not for professional who don’t want to get hurt on the job when it breaks from regular use and you go flying backwards. There’s is a difference, and professional learn that the hard way. God bless y’all!

Really, really great tool. Great mechanical leverage, because of the length. Nice small head. I like this a lot.

So believe it or not it took me a while to pull the trigger on this ratchet. It all started when I helped my buddy replace his hub bearings in his Jeep TJ, the 12 point 13mm hub bolts probably had not moved since the Jeep was manufactured in 2001, so they were tight. Fortunately I was able to borrow a snap-on extended handle 3/8 ratchet from my mechanic buddy, and that thing made good work of those over torqued hub bolts. The glamour and sublimity of the snap-on ratchet almost had me convinced to pull the trigger on one for myself, but after seeing the $150 price tag, I had to do some research on other brands before forking over that kind of money. Eventually I stumble across this tool, and having good experiences in the past with Tekton I figured worst case scenario I’ll be out $35. Since then I have been quite satisfied with my purchase. This ratchet can withstand a lot of torque allowing you to bust tight bolts loose without much issue. I even did some minor torture testing on the ratchet, putting my entire body weight on it to tighten a bolt and then cracking it loose, no problems at all. Good ratchet, good price, good brand.

I have used this product many times. I am a professional auto technician and have really tested it. I used it for everything for about a year before I encountered an issue. It withstood extremely high torque loads without any problems.I recently was using it and the ratcheting mechanism broke. I contacted Tekton and they replied to me within 10 minutes saying that they would ship a rebuild kit for the head. I am extremely impressed with the company now. Not only do they build a great product but they stand behind it. They offer service much quicker than my local tool trucks, and I see no reason not to give this company a try first before buying from "Professional" competitors. All ratchets break and need serviced. Tekton is worth a try.

Only just got it and barely used, but I can already tell I'm going to love it. The head of the ratchet is super small too, will fit in lots of tight spots. The only thing I noticed is a bit of scratches on it right out of the box, but that doesn't bother me.Update: I've put some serious torque on this ratchet and it hasn't skipped a beat. The mechanism does free wheel if the lever is pushed all the way to one side, not sure why but just something I've noticed

I work as a technician in an automotive aftertreatment R&D capacity, and this is part of my tool kit. This isn't designed as a breaker bar, to give you extra leverage, it is designed for extra reach. It works well, and is of high quality. Tekton has a great warranty, too. No waiting for the tool truck to show up, no taking off work to make it to the store before it closes, no sending it in and waiting for them to inevitably say it was abuse and charge you for a replacement. No, Tekton, if (and that is a big if) it breaks, just send them a picture of the broken tool, and they send you a new one.
