I have no complaints about this air conditioning unit. We installed it in our bedroom, which gets much warmer than the rest of the house! My husband loves the voice control with Alexa or Google Assistant-enabled devices. Installation was easy, and it runs quietly compared to other units we've used. It cooled the room quickly and looks modern and compact. It's definitely going to be a lifesaver this summer! We're delighted.

We don’t often need an air conditioner in our relatively high altitude of Colorado, but this summer we’ve had some rather warm days and refrigerated air feels so nice! We got the 8000BTU and it cools the open, approximately 850 square ft. main floor very quickly and keeps it cool. Our main complaint is the noise. Low power is loud, high is louder!There is no way to turn the noise down other than shutting off the air conditioner. I think there are lower cost units out there that do not interrupt normal living with their noise!

I got this specifically to convert it into a portable ac. With some creative engineering I was able to make myself a portable garage air conditioner that is far more efficient than a true portable, and for less moolah!The unit looks great and quality control appears to be a high priority for TCL. Everything is very well made, and thoughtfully designed, including the remote control which is laid out in a manner that actually makes sense and isn't a total mess of functions most people aren't going to use.My setup is vastly different from most, but the environment it's in, is likely fairly common. My garage is concrete cinderblock built in the 1950s. Shingle roof and no insulation. Technically, it's a brick oven in the summer, I could probably bake a pizza in there. Needless to say, it's not somewhere you can spend any length of time in if you like being conscious and amongst the living.Because this unit is only 8k btu, I fully understood it couldn't possibly cool the whole garage. However I didn't need it to, I just needed it to cool a section of the garage. Thus I turned it into a portable ac so it is wherever I need it to be. It fits my needs perfectly!Excellent value for money spent, and highly recommend it!

Why buy or manufacture a smart item when the smart isn't so smart. Pairing is impossible help non existent and no like master reset for the networks or way to restore to factory settings.Quite frustrating.

The device works well and is very much cheaper to use than the common type of A/C. Below are some hints for using this and other linear compressor A/Cs successfully.As many have noted, installation is probably over complicated. Follow the manual diagrams and read the instructions will make for a successful installation.When it is shipped it, will almost always have been tipped beyond the tolerance allowed and not cool much. Allow it to run for about 12 hours, and then turn it off. Allow another 12 hours and turn it back on. It will begin cooling. The manual says nothing about this fix. We have two A/Cs with linear compressors and this fixed both cooling deficiencies. Many of the other reviewers may have been successful and not had to return the device, if the fix was given in the manual.One problem of both linear devices is the much less powerful inside blowers versus common A/Cs; likely a result of the complete separation of the inside and outside components. As noted above, it will take longer to cool a space but will ultimately cool well.

This works great. Did not need it often but on the super hot days we had it was nice to have.Does not cool the whole house but we closed the doors on the bedrooms and it did a great job of keeping the living area cool.It has bult in expandable extensions that swing out on each side to fill the gaps. Did not work for us as they were to short to fill the whole opening. Easy fix to cut some foam insulation to fill it. Packed the pieces away with the unit so we reuse them next year.Pleased with how quiet the unit is. Did notice a slight rattle from the outside of the unit after about the third use but it is not noticeable inside and the unit works fine.
