DO NOT BUY!!! Don’t waste your money. Heat don’t work and the AC part stop working. A week later after the return date. Call the company, they then give another number to call. NO ANSWER 😡

This is a beast. Easy installation, low noise level. Keeps the garage warm in the winter. Great value for the money for a window unit.

Installed it in our upstairs room, and, bottom line: it does work. That's about all I can say for it that's good. The thing's a bear to install, with the adjuster screws used to keep it from cantilevering out of the window not being long enough for my window; that I could deal with, though, with some extra shims. But after about five months, I started hearing a really loud clattering noise when the compressor kicked on. That's outside Amazon's return window, so I reached out to Soleus, providing them full details and a video of the malfunction. They told me to take it up with Amazon, who sent me back to Soleus. Soleus proceeded to ignore me for several days and it took multiple pings to get anything out of them; finally I had to ask them for a physical address because it was getting close to time for You'll Receive Mail. Then they perked right up and told me to ship the whole air conditioner back at my expense. No troubleshooting, no repairs, just ship it right back and pay $200 for the privilege. I'm obviously not going to do that, because at that point I'm in for a third of what it cost in the first place and with the way they'd acted I'm not sure I'd even get a working replacement.I wouldn't give them a thin dime again. I know it's hard to find reverse-cycle window units, but keep looking.

I don't know how they got their noise specs, but so far, I have only used for heating, and it is terribly loud. We have vibration isolated every part of the unit, we have damped the vibration on the window sashes. We even had to damp vibration on the other window in the room and in the next room. This thing shakes THE WHOLE WALL. Once it gets going, it quiets down, but the first 5 minutes are terrifying. The thermostat apparently has no control to shut off either the heating or cooling.I think it does not make sense to mount a heatpump on a wood single pane window sash. The thin piece of glass transmits all the noise into the room.It does heat A LOT. We only used it for cooling one day, so far (got it in the fall).I wanted to like it, cuz I thought it was a great concept. It DOES leave the window pretty useful to look out of. When this one dies, I won't buy another one. Next time I will just do a ductless mini split and mount the noisy compressor outside a solid wall. Or buy a non heatpump saddle mount window AC without heater. But I loved the idea of a heater behind the window. Just too loud. I believe some engineering to isolate the internal components and to sound isolate the external body of the whole unit would make it a more civilized solution. We remove our cat, warm up the room for 2 hours before we go to bed, then turn the unit off all night. We have to pad the front of the unit, otherwise lots of cold air comes in through the chassis.

This thing not only is quiet, but it also does a great job. It was 35°f outside today & this thing kept 900sqft room at 80°f inside. I installed this for an elderly widow i know who doesnt have heat or ac in the addition on her home. Installing a traditional hvac system wasnt practical & she didn't want holes cut in the house. This unit was my solution. Price was a bit expensive up front, but it took little to no time to install it. She was absolutely thrilled with how well this unit does. It does so well, im purchasing one for my home to lower my heating & cooling cost. I would've gave it 10 stars if it was an option

I have owned and used this for about a month. I like the low profile in the window. It does grumble when the unit runs at lower wattages; it cycles through different wattages when in the cooling mode. It also seals in the window very well with the included rubbery blocks. It has about the same efficiency of a window unit. In the cooling mode it seems to run between 600 to 800 watts. In the heating mode It runs a pretty consistent 1100 watts, which is on par for a 10k btu. That works for me, since I run this unit from solar power. One problem as others have mentioned is the drainage problem. This affects the constant fluctuations in wattage. This then causes the compressor to vibrate the wall when at the lower wattages. It never runs at full power in cooling mode. As others have experienced, I had problems within a couple of days. It would cycle up and down and eventually shut off. I pulled the pop-in rubber plug and after draining, it ran again. I have a small container to catch the 1 to 2 gallons of water per day produced. There is no other way to drain it somewhere since it has no threads. I stuck a piece of 1 inch PVC on this tiny stub to direct the water instead of tracking under the unit and creating a big mess. I may try a dishwasher rubber drain connecter and pex to drain out the window in the future?I will update a fix when I get to it. I will also update the temperature cut-off for the heat-pump when winter rolls around.9 Month Update. Here in South Texas we got down to 34° and it did work! It goes into defrost mode which reverses the hot and cold side for a few minutes. Most window units do not this. Here is a list of my observations.Pro'sInverter technology starts soft which is great for running on an inverter.Heat pump works down to 34° so far.Low profileCon's (Both in cooling mode.)Drain is horrible! Pull the plug and drain in a bucket or it won't run.It goes up and down in wattage grumbling in the process.
