This banjo is functional and does speed taping but it is exhausting. I found it too big to manage easily and by the end of the day I was hurting all over. I have used the smaller Delko taper and it is much easier to work with.. It doesn't hold as much mud as the Mud Dog but I found that to be a good thing. I plan to sell the Mud Dog and replace it with the Delko.

This banjo boasts several standout features that set it apart from others. Its sturdy construction, including the robust ABS plastic components and excellent engineering, already make it a solid choice for me so far. However, there are minor improvements that could elevate it further. One notable concern is the fragility of the plastic hinges that attach to the cap; they tend to break when mud accumulates in the hinge openings. While daily cleaning isn't a bother for me, upgrading these hinges to more durable ABS plastic could make this banjo nearly flawless. Despite this, I must say, I genuinely love this instrument, and it remains a very reliable choice! Also to add to this, the flow of the mud flow remains consistent as It's made out of hard plastic as steel ones tend to open up with usage as the metal tip opening very fragile and malleable

Don't get me wrong it is heavy gauge plastic, however it is still very breakable. For instance, the main flow adjustment knob broke making this a very expensive paper weight. The website doesn't offer replacement parts at all. Website seems half complete as well.
