The tape measure will not lock/hold if the tape is extended beyond 6 inches. The recoil spring easily over powers the poorly manufactured plastic lock/hold feature. This turns what should be a simple single hand measuring/transferring process into a frustrating two hand excersise. Being a TWENTY-FIVE FEET tape measure, this is a very basic functional failure. Fortunately, I can easily return it, and will!

I always misplace my tape measures and decided to avoid the "torturous hunt" for where I left it by buying a few low cost tape measures. This one works and you can buy four of these instead of one top brand unit and always have one close at hand.

It pulls out and can lock in place. It can retract at the push of a button. It's a good weight. I am happy with it as I needed a longer tape measure than the one I had. This one is 25 ft. A good buy for the money.

This measuring tape was a replacement for one I broke. Almost identical to the one I had previously. Gets the job done! It’s pretty heavy but that’s expected.
