I bought an Android head on Amazon relatively cheap a year or so ago and it came with a backup camera that had a good picture but was one of those small cube types with very few mounting options. I wanted to get a camera that was part of the tailgate latch so I can see what I'm doing when I'm loading my trailer. This works perfectly I can back right up to the hitch and it's right on the money. The quality is so-so but good enough for the price. The camera image is not HD. It's basically just a composite video image and has a slight bit of noise on the line, but It does the job and I can see good enough day and night to be able to back up without running into things. I'm giving this five stars not because of the fantastic quality but because the quality is not horrible and that price is exceptional.

2017 ram 1500 i Installed it with my new tablet radio 13And the quality is super clear installation is straight forward and easy to do my 2 year old installed it for meI have no complaints even at night it's better then the factory rearview I have on my challenger it's been 9ver 2 months now amd still have no complaints its a must buy if your upgrading your radio

Unable to speak on the quality of the camera due to the handle not working the tailgate after installing. Feels very light compared to the OEM handle.

I ordered this for my pickup and when I received it it worked alright but only for a few weeks. All I could get was a black screen. I contacted the seller and they were very nice about it. They immediately sent me a replacement. I received the replacement and wouldn't you know, it's defective out of the box. I just spent 3 hours messing with it trying to get something out of it. I tested it and I'm getting no output at all. Just like the first one. This camera is absolute garbage!!

I bought this to replace my camera that stopped working. Straight forward install, however the camera is low quality and pointed too far down. The lines on the camera are too short and points too far down. You can easily over tighten and break the threads.

First, the fit and form factor of the handle and camera is good. The parts design appear to match the original mold for the handle. The return spring seems/feels a little lighter. The lock cylinder fit perfectly and screwed in easily. The installation takes more time. I was replacing a Natika camera I had originally installed. The 4pin micro plug looked the same, but the indexing grove is 1/4 turn off and did not work. I had to remove the wire that I had installed from front to back and install the cable that came with the camera. That said, this camera's cable included loom tube to protect the cabling--a bonus compared to the Natika cable. I still think the black and red wires for power are incredibely small-but function. Once connected the camera worked well, and is pointed correctly for the handle position. I could easily see 20 plus feet behind the truck to back up to my boat. I had previesly installed the adapter in my Dodge OEM head unit, and enabled the camera function using Dodge's software.Now, the bad--the handle is not as solid as the original. The OEM handle is molded with a P6 nylon with Glass fiber reinforcement--very skookum. This handle is ABS and Poly-Carbonate construction. This will undoubtably be more brittle in cold weather and more susceptible to chemical damage from road salt and car soaps. I installed it anyway, but I have also kept the OEM handle as all the parts will fit into it. Time will tell.Over all the unit is acceptable, but the quality of the handle leaves me believing that it could have been beter.
