This monitor is designed for users who want the convenience of a selfie camera without the limitations. It holds strongly to my phone, and once it's set up properly, it does what it's supposed to do -- albeit with occasional hiccups and lag.That said, it's a little hard to get used to and clumsy to use.For one thing, every time I use it, I have to wait for my phone to recognize it before I can connect to it. That's a minor annoyance, but still feels a little anachronistic when most Bluetooth devices -- especially those specific to iPhones -- connect automatically.The side buttons can also be an issue with handheld use. Maybe things would be different if my phone were a Pro Max or a Plus, but with an iPhone 15 Pro, it's difficult to flip the phone around to make adjustments or press record without accidentally pressing a button and doing something unintended. I'd much prefer for the buttons to be removed altogether or incorporated into a separate remote.As for using this with a selfie stick, gimbal, or tripod, the fact that it's MagSafe means you're pretty much limited to clamp mounts if you want to put it on the back of your phone (or have nowhere else to put it), and those, in turn, restrict your access to the phone screen. That's a much bigger deal when you're mobile than it is when you're stationary.

This was easy to set up and connect to and works well. The only slight downside is that the device's aspect ratio doesn't quit match my phone's so when using it I have to live with a letterboxed image on my phone (the other choice was living with a cropped image on the device).While the item is advertised as being for selfies, I find it most useful as a remote viewfinder for those occasions where I have to hold my phone up high or down low in order to get a good shot. Using this remote monitor allows me to do that without contortions. There is, of course, the issue of trying to hold phone in one hand, monitor in the other and then pressing the shutter, but the device's remote shutter key helps a lot with that.

I was not able to test this item like it should be because I was not able to connect it to my Pixel 9 Pro XL phone. I believe it is due to Google's restrictions on the pixel phones that allows it to only connect to Chromecast devices or wired connections. I wanted to use this extra monitor as an extra monitor for when I shoot videos on a long selfie stick to get shots similar to drone shots. This would be perfect for that because it would allow me to lift my phone up High and view it on the second monitor. I was able to connect it via Bluetooth to use it as a remote control for the camera but still I can't see the image on the monitor I can only use the physical buttons to control my camera. Now the reason I give it 3 stars? It's because the device gets extremely hot, I was nervous it'd catch fire, maybe it is due to the fact that it's looking for a connection but it was extremely hot. I'm sorry I wasn't able to test all it's potential. I read in reviews that this issue is exclusive to Pixel phones.
