I wanted a good, study binocular microscope to use as a nature journaling tool and have not been disappointed with this choice. It has 2 and 4x magnification, that allows me to see the level of detail I was looking for. It's easy to use and just the right size.

I have a Swift SW350B compound microscope that works very well with organic transparent or translucent objects, but lacks an overhead light source for examining exterior surfaces (like coins, rocks, etc...). This stereo microscope, while limited to 80x with the included eyepieces, does a really good job of examining surface detail. Easy to use and has the ability to backlight as well, worth the money.

I regularly use stereo/dissecting scopes like this for work as a grad student, and this scope is a nice tool for the price. For 200 bucks, you get pretty good image quality at 20 and 40x magnification, and the 80x functions just as well with a little supplementary light source.I bought this to play around with tardigrades at home, and they are plainly visible at even the lowest magnification, reasonably well observed at higher mag (but, again, are helped out significantly by the addition of a flashlight to the scope's built in lighting). The accompanying frosted glass and solid black/white background can make a huge difference!

Very satisfied with this product. Use with bugs and plant disease diagnosis. You may want to consider an additional light , depending on your needs.

As soon as we opened the microscope and plugged it in the electric transformer inside blew in seconds rendeing the lighting useless. Changing the bulbs and fuse achieved nothing. The manual had little to no info but stating it was meant for 110-240V seemed to suggest it was suitable for our 240V power supply in New Zealand but this was not the case with our device, whether that is due to a fault in the device or this product not being compatible with our power grid.Aside from the lights not working, it is a well built microscope for the price tag which is a shame. We would have returned it but the warranty and return period was so short we didn't really have a chance. 3 stars as the products seems fine other than this one fault. Just beware of the lack of a warranty!

I wanted my grandchildren to see the incredible nature that’s not visible to the naked eye so I asked my science teacher brother-in-law to recommend a stereo microscope. This Swift met all of my expectations. It arrived on time and my granddaughters are fascinated with the close-up views of insects, pond water microscopic life, feather structures etc.
