This pack of Sweetness Central 24 Count Premium Edible Icing Sheets contains 24ct A4 size icing sheets, or an 8.5x11 inch size. They are meant to be utilized with an edible ink printer, however you don't have to have one to use these [cause I don't... lol] and you can paint on them with edible paints and dyes.

I've been purchasing these icing sheets for months and absolutely love the quality of them every single time. Compared to other icing sheet sellers, all 24 sheets within this come in tact and not damaged. I also love the fact that they are based in the US compared to other sellers. Working with these edible sheets is a lot of fun. Attaching a few pics of my work using these sweetnesscentral sheets.

The package smells of a rich vanilla when you first open it, but the individual sheets do not smell that strong. It blends in well with the icing it's placed on top of which also softens it slightly. This is a great trick to allow easy redos on complicated cake decor. It's much easier to start over on these sheets than messed up icing.

I'm reviewing Sweetness Central 24 Count Premium Edible Icing Sheets | A4 Size | 8.5" x 11". This is used specifically for cake decoration designs that cannot be achieved with frosting material, for images that require precise/fine details. I imagine this is what the bakeries with edible printers use to set photos and graphics that are special ordered by clients. I've had such cake ordered for a special occasion where I sent a PDF and it magically appeared on a sheet cake. This is an icing paper, as opposed to wafer paper, I think there is a difference and professionals use one over the other to fit their needs. As for the taste, it just tastes like starchy sugar, though it does have a sweet vanilla aroma. It has a stiff but pliable texture (so it can withstand the printing process and can absorb the ink without disintegrating), and once consumed it will eventually melt away.As a home baker, I don't own one of those printers, so for me this is perfect for painting the designs by hand. I'm a graphic designer so I like the fact that I now have this alternative to gain more control over the details I can add to my baked goods. I was able to use a heart-shaped metal cookie cutter and score the paper (I pushed into as hard as I can but it wouldn't completely cut into it), then carefully peeled it off along the line. I then painted inside the shape with random colors and it turned out nice. Alternatively, you can paint first, then cut around it (this is probably more conventional way of working with this material). It is much like doing water color but the material is not as forgiving as water color paper. As I gain more experience I will be better and will come up with more creative ways to use this. It's nice that this is available for the general public so home bakers like me has access to experiment with.

What I liked:These "Sweetness Central 24 Pcs Vanilla Flavored Edible Icing Sheets | 8.5" x 11" | Premium, Kosher-Certified Edible Paper for Cake and Cookie Printers" do offer a clever way to decorate your cakes and cupcakes. They smell great and are easy to trim and put in place (though they lack any real instructions). What I did not like:I didn't like the lack on instructions/tips on how to use them and the taste was nowhere as good as the smell led me to hope for (which was quite disappointing).Overall:Just 3 stars here - mostly for the high clever-factor, not for the taste.

I have used another brand for years but decided to try these, don't make the same mistake. When going through the printer they chip and break causing jams, they don't feed through properly. And yes, they are in an air conditioned area of the house and the bad is always zipper closed so it's not due to exposure. They also are very hard to peel off of the plastic.

Icing sheets came sealed packed and secured. There were no damage to the icing sheets. As a beginner baker, these sheets are great way for me to learn to get customized prints. Has a yummy vanilla flavor as well.
