The only bad thing about these is they tend to get hydrolocked even if you turn the handle to give more room for air. You have to push REALLY hard to use this. I put mine on the floor and gently pushed down with my foot. I was worried that clear plastic might break right next to my wrist and really didnt want to deal with major bleeding. Once your bearing is packed unscrew the handle and pull out the bearing and clear some of the grease away from the holes. Then attach the handle and try to avoid rocking side to side as you pull up. I think its the side to side motion that puts too much stress on the threaded piece and snaps it but then again it could just be a weak point and breaks from just being pulled. I only need to do this once or twice a year so not a big issue for me.

So much simpler than hand packing. Fast and does a good job. Great that you can put the cap on, leave it stored with grease until you need it next. Also the zerk on top for filling is perfect - keeps things cleaner than opening to fill.

This packer screw on push handle broke while I attempted to remove the bottom. You see (brand new) the bottom was vapor locked into the bowl and all I did was try to pull it out. I had a job to do (in the middle of packing bearings) so I tried to salvage the item by securing the broken parts with a large screw. The fix I attempted worked for one set of bearings than the screw stripped out. I did not contact customer service or attempt a replacement or refund because the item was used and filled with grease. I completed the job packing bearings the old fashion way which was less messy.

Much Better than I was expecting. I was afraid it would not be heavy duty enough, but it is sturdy and better than the popular red one I've been using for years. The double o-ring is nice and it resists tilting/toppling over to the side when I put pressure on it. Does exactly what I wanted to do and it's strong seems like it will last a long time. Has a cap to keep the dusting dirt out. I'm an airplane mechanic and I intend to buy another one automotive needs...

Was a little hard to remove plunger initially but once bearing grease added worked well and made bearing grease repacking much faster

Pros: works as it should. Thoroughly gets the grease in the bearing adequately.Con: It takes an extremely strong person (someone stronger than me) to push the plunger down to get the grease to flow. I had to set it on the floor and step on it to make it flow. Not a deal breaker. I would buy again.

I usually use the ole grease in the palm to pack my bearings. I decided to be lazy and purchased this packer and it works as advertised. Luckily the outside temps were warm so it wasn't too hard to press down to get the grease to move through the bearings. I can see that it will take some effort in cold temperatures. This packer works quicker then hand packing but now I have another greasy container to store in the garage.
