I did the pump for the first half of my first use during an oil change and setting up to Tommy air compressor went much faster than just pumping which would need to be done periodically since the flow would stop. This unit was cheaper than the other units and I think is just as effective. Good value and kept me from having to get under the car. A must have if you have an oil filter housing at the top of the engine. Totally worth the money.

My car was designed to extract the oil from the filler on top.Makes doing an oil change a breeze. Oil and filter changed and replaced in 20 minutes total.One piece of advice is to make sure that your oil is warm before extracting to get everything out

I used an air compressor to change the oil in my boat and it made short work it. Highly recommend if you are changing the oil in a boat with and inboard.

This is one tool I should have purchased long ago. It works great. You do need to watch how much vacuum you put on the tank but that should be common sense.....yeah. Anyway. Great for pulling oil out of tanks, transmissions and engines. I like the pump or airhose option both work well. Airhose is loud like an air nozzle. Comes with good assortment of tube's to fit into containers or into a dipstick tube. Wouldn't use it with hot oil as it is a plastic tank.

I bought this contraption to do oil changes on both of my E46 BMW cars. Since the oil filter is up on top, it only made sense. This unit works as described. It sucks the oil out with ease, it easy to empty the canister, it is sturdy and reasonably well made, one caveat being that white plastic tubes get dislodged from their black fittings before the fittings dislodge from each other. The only problem I have encountered, and it’s probably applicable to all vacuum oil extractors, is that no matter how hard I tried to suck all the old oil out, there was always about half-a-liter of old oil left in the engine. This was corroborated by a few utube videos I found. I guess I’ll live with it. It just makes oil changes so much easier and cleaner.

I bought this for differential fluid replacement on a Raptor. Since then, I have used it on BMW's and many other cars. Great price and has many adapters with it. Also if you are mobile and don't have a compressor, it has a pump for manual pumping.

Well built main unit and plenty of extensions. One fatal issue aka adapters connecting extension tubes are not good fit causing vacuum leak and making what should have been minutes into frustrating hours. Ended up returning and not being able to get the job done.Two improvement suggestions- makings on the side are impossible to read, news to include an adapter to be able t connect all three extensions currently both extensions can be connected only to the main tube.Without properly sized adapter the unit doesn’t work. I used multiple tapes to try to get the extension to stay connected properly but it’s too much work and I kept loosing various degrees of vacuum sea requiring constant pumping and trickle for a flow. Please fix the adapters

After reading reviews decided on this model. It works as it should used it to drain oil from hyudai veloster, used the supplied suction tubes hooked up air from a large compressor left the air at 120pi opened valve and it started to draw oil in a few seconds you can see when the oil stops drawing thru the semi clear tubing repositioned the tube a few times for it to start drawing again. When oil no longer visible in tube shut off air an pulled out suction tube. The plastic parts used are not the most durable, the connectio for the suction hose to cannister was difficult to attach had to put lubricant on o ring , then it went on easy but be careful the clips could easily break if you force it. They give an extra connector with kit. It's not heavy duty but does the trick for the price point. Went under the car to change filter chkd if any oil left in pan pulled plug not a drop came out. So it work. Just be careful I used the larger suction tube an it sort of got stuck in dip stic tube had to wiggle it up and down to get it out, there is a thinner suction tube that I could of used. It took about 4 min to draw all the oil out. To clean just turn on air it cleanes the suction tube right out. Was easy to dump used oil out. Squirted a little gas thru suction tube washed it right out. After dumping oil out put about a half cup of gas in canister swirled it around dumped it out wiped inside with paper towel just like new. Also used it to drain oil out of 275 baja inboard worked excellent, a lot easier than waiting for oil to drain thru drain tube thru transom . You pay for what you get so it has worked twice so far no issues.

Does not work, does not create vacuum to extract. warranty is a joke. No way to contact seller.After receiving it it was flushed clean with water the and pipes and dried. Then the workshop did a job with this on a 2006 Volvo All wheel drive differential replacing it's electronic pump and refill with new oil. After about 500 miles the customer complained of grinding noise in differential. He went to Volvo dealership they drained oil and found black plastic pieces that killed the Diff ! Customer brought the pieces found by dealers in oil and blamed our shop. We had used this Swanlake on three cars Volvo was the third and last. After washing again clean Swanlake with hot water and soap with a simple camera we could see inside and in the water we drained same kind of plastic pieces the customer brought. In all honesty we knew it was only our shop that did the repairs and filled genuine Volvo oil in the Diff. And we saw the poorly finished Swanlake had plastic shavings and more ready to fall and mix in oil. We paid out $2470 to the customer and we gave this Swanlake to the customer as he and his wife asked for it as we had just dumped it in Trash. All this happened in a matter of 3 months and 500 miles after the job. I would caution everyone who bought this kind of a thing to expect a serious damage to transmission or differentials wherever you use this. We wanted a little ease of use but our old ways are the best and cleanest way, even when we use hand held suction and fill pumps. Just that it's too messy but we never had this kind of a mess from any job we did without using Swanlake. Metal or plastic shavings are sure death for any vehicle in any moving parts, fuel , air and oil systems . We just trusted this product blindly and paid a heavy price for it.
