This well-made panini press that also has a grilling option with a way to drain and catch grease in a grease pan. I use this primarily for grilled sandwiches since it is easier to use and clean than a pan, and for grilled cheese. It did a great job of fully melting the cheese with heat coming from both sides and a little pressure from the top. It's a little retro in design style with a stainless-steel top and a boxy shape with crisp edges. There are two dials - one for time and the other for temperature. You set the temperature then turn the timer on to switch on the grill. Once the grill preheats to the desired temperature a green light will come on to let you know the grill is ready. I just lightly butter my bread and cook it on high. If you use high you will get the grill marks, medium or lower and the sandwich will cook but there won't be marks on the bread. You use wood, plastic or silicone with the Teflon surface so you don't scratch it. To wash it use a damp towel or paper towel. You can briefly run water over the surface of the grill but never immerse it. I set the timer for more time than I need and just turn it back to zero when my food is cooked.

When using this as a Panini press, the hinge pivots to provide good coverage no matter the thickness of sandwich. I like that it opens fully to 180 degrees to be used as an indoor grill. The timer is a nice addition my other one doesn't have. My only complaint is that even when maxxed out, the temperature doesn't get hot enough to provide a good sear on chicken or meat, or even hot dogs.

We chose this SUSTEAS Panini Press Sandwich Maker and Electric Indoor Grill primarily for grilled cheese sandwiches. We normally make them in a pan on our gas stove, with a heavy cast iron grill press. This was very disappointing and I wish that I had not gotten it.The build is alright, but leaves something to be desired. There is a built in grease pan at the back, which was not necessary for our use, but may be useful for your needs. The top is lighter weight than expacted and the plastic used for th side arms is much too lightweight and thin to make this feel like a good investment. Where the plastic arm is attached via a screw, to the top grill on the left side, it easily bends and I expect it to break in time. The surfaces (both top and bottom) heat unevenly with cold spots at the edges.We made 4 small sandwiches with relatively thin bread. They were MUCH smaller than the sandwiches photoshopped into the product photo. It took over 10 minutes, and the results were much less tasty than those we make on the stove. The raised lines did a good job of heating the bread and making a pretty pattern, but ths spaces between them were left much less cooked than I prefer.I received this item as part of the Vine program, in return for an honest review. I would not spend money on an item from this company, and had I purchased it, I would be returning it.
