About this item

  • Native Wildflower - Mealycup sage, or Victoria Blue, is native to the North American continent, particularly Texas and Mexico. These sage seeds for planting outdoor produce drought-tolerant plants that are good for growing in the heat as perennial sage, or in colder climates as an annual.
  • Pollinator Friendly - The deep blue purple cup shaped flowers grow in showy spikes and attract pollinators, including bees and butterflies. The leaves of these Texas sage plants are shiny and elongated, unlike most sage varieties.
  • Grow Now or Later - Plant your mealy cup sage seeds now or store in your seed vault for future growing seasons. The Salvia plant seeds will remain viable for years if stored in a cool dry location. Each pack has instructions for saving seeds so you can perpetuate your harvest and share with others.
  • The Info You Need to Grow - These salvia seeds are packed in a beautiful paper packet with instructions for successful growing and germination in your home garden. Each package also has instructions for saving seeds after harvest. Getting started is simple for both beginner and experienced gardeners.
  • Small American Family-Owned Business - We’re committed to providing fresh, high-quality seeds, including pineapple sage seeds, for planting now or storing for future seasons. We pledge to sell only safe, non-hybrid non-GMO heirloom seeds that are open-pollinated and tested for the best germination rates.

Planted in the spring with marigolds and multiple other flowers. Everything group at these. I planted some on my family dog’s grave and not one of them grew. I also planted some in the front of my house and not one sprout from that batch either.

Sprouted indoors under lights in a seed sprouting box, then moved outside and I’m now up to my ears in growing salvia. The seeds are small, so thin ruthlessly. Hummingbirds love the deep purple blooms, and best of all, I’m not paying $7.59 a plant for colors I don’t like at Lowe’s! Instead, I’m giving plants away.

I must have gotten an old batch. I watered and pampered these seeds in germination pots, but the only plants that ultimately sprouted were endemic weeds.

I started these sage seeds in pots and planted them out into the garden as soon as the weather began to warm in the spring. They started to bloom in late spring and haven’t stopped since. The plants have survived the summer heat with many days well above 100 degrees here in California’s Central Valley. It is now almost January and they have kept blooming despite multiple frosts and several mornings at or slightly below freezing. The local hummingbirds love the flowers and small finches munch on the seeds, so the plants attract wildlife as well. I have nothing negative to say about this Victoria Blue sage.
