SurgicalOnline Alligator Ear Forceps are a non-ratcheted, finger ring, ENT instrument commonly used for debridement and removing debris from the ear. These forceps are named after the German physician Arthur SurgicalOnline medical forceps for removing foreign bodies. A common name also is "Crocodile forceps". Alligator forceps are surgi-instruments that are great for grasping small objects or removing items from small cavities in the body. The instrument has a long shaft that is set at a 45-degree angle to the grip, and a small set of serrated jaws at the tip. The jaws bear resemblance to the snout of an alligator, giving rise to the name of the tool. When not in use, the serrated jaws remain open and only close when the handles are squeezed. This function allows for the forceps to be inserted into a small cavity, to partially open, and to then be closed on a lodged object, holding the object with a consistent application of pressure. The ability to fine tune the amount of pressure applied, combined with the long reach of the tool, makes the forceps ideal for removing foreign bodies or for moving sterile dressings in a hard-to-reach area after surgi-procedures. This instrument is made from Premium Stainless Steel that is tarnish free, corrosion resistant and fully autoclavable. It is easy to clean and re use in the clinical environment. Ordered to pull a qtip out of my ear. I got a qtip stuck in my ear last month and my doctor used this. I didn’t want to go back so soon after breaking another qtip in my ear so I ordered this. Works great !!! Pulled it out on the maybe third try.

These forceps are made with decent stainless steel material. They polished and look great. I have used them successfully to pick up and retrieve small objects. Why only two stars ? My recent needs required grasping very thin/fine objects in which they failed miserably. The jaws do not fully mate. Any material less than 1mm thick will easily slide out of grip. Too late to return to Amazon.........

This is awesome! The ability to reach in and grab things from things is fun. It reminds me of the game Operation. Its not tweezers but cooler. It's helped me so many times so far and the only regret I have is not getting another one maybe a little bigger. Believe me, if you've ever had to reach in a very tight place and grab something you've dropped. Its amazing what magic happens to make something bounce into such a tight place to begin with but to have the perfect tool to retrieve it is a great feeling. It's surgical stainless steel so very strong and won't be pulled by magnets nearby. I had no idea how impatient is to have one until i had it as an option. If you're on the fence and can't decide whether you should or shouldn't get it, absolutely get it! You won't regret it

Since getting hearing aids I’ve been to the ENT twice to have the hearing aid domes removed from my ear canals. I’m hoping that my wife will be brave and pull them out using the Micro Alligator 3” Forceps the next time I’m careless replacing the domes.

Seems durable. Don’t see myself using them a lot since they were purchased specifically to remove a foreign body from an ear canal so I can say for certain they will last. They feel and work great and I speculate they will out last me.

Needed this to reach inside of a fountain pen barrel. Works extremely well. The quality is nice too. I would not use this for rough work however.
