The interior finish on these is extremely rough, on par with un-enameled cast iron. Unfortunately this means food sticks to the cooking surface fairly aggressively, and the pan requires being filled with water for a long soak (overnight) to ease clean up.None of the other enameled cast iron I own is like this (Le Creuset / Lodge). They are as smooth inside as out, and as a result come clean very easily - often as a result of deglazing during the final stages of cooking. Not so with this one, unfortunately, as the finish is closer to that of 320 grit sandpaper.Otherwise this pan would be a solid winner all around. It's a shame the interior finish detracts so significantly from an otherwise nearly perfect pan.

Excellent ceramic coated cast iron cookware. Nice to cook in and serve. Food stays hot in cast iron.

This is my go-to pan for making smaller quantities of sauces and soups, plus great for making meals in one pan…use similar to my cast iron Dutch oven, but half the size.

This is an exceptionally nice, heavy-duty, versatile pan. It came very nicely and carefully packaged. Being cast iron it is, of course, heavy. (It's actually heftier than it looks in the ad) It's roomy at about 12 inches across and over two inches deep. It has a heavy glass lid and convenient handles on the sides. It can be used both on the stovetop and in the oven. (The pan and the glass lid are said to be oven-safe up to 500 degrees) You could use this pan as a frying pan, a deep fryer, a baking dish, or a slow cooker like a dutch oven. It will be perfect for searing steak on the stovetop and then finishing it off in the oven. It is also attractive enough to be used as a serving dish, right from the stove to the table. The pan is cast iron but both the inside and outside are enameled so it requires different care than traditional bare cast iron cookware. It will be stick-resistant but you will want to use a little butter or oil when frying in it. Also, unlike bare cast iron, metal utensils should not be used on the inside of the pan. Also unlike traditional cast iron, it can be washed in warm soapy water. (The pan should not be put in the dishwasher. The glass lid is dishwasher safe) Also, enameled cast iron does not need to be seasoned like bare cast iron nor re-oiled after each use. So this pan gives you the advantage of cast iron, even heating and lasting heat retention, but can be used and cared for more like a non-cast iron pan. A sheet comes with the pan outlining how to cook, clean, and care for it.I'm very impressed with this pan. I love to cook and am looking forward to putting this pan through it's paces in all of its variable uses.

This is a nice heavy pan that is very versatile. I'm not much of a cook but I like to pretend I am by having nice cooking equipment. This is a nice pan. I didn't really need it but I wanted to try it and see how it shaped up against my other pans of this type. This is a little heavier than my Le Creuset pan of the same size. I like the lid and I don't like the lid! I like having a glass lid so you can see what is cooking without always lifting the lid, but I find the shape problematic for storage. For my other lidded pans, I will store them with the lid inverted and then can stack other things on them. The dome lid makes that harder because it's tall and doesn't nestle nicely into the pan. So something to think about when you are looking for a place to put it. My kitchen is so small that it's living on top of my stove...Cooking - it cooks well. The cast iron makes for even heat and the pan holds the heat well. The little handles do heat up quite a bit, so have some pot holders ready if you don't have asbestos hands. It's a hand wash item but I had no problem washing it by hand. So far I've used it for spaghetti sauce and a chicken piccata. Nothing too messy. When it cooled down, I put it in the sink to soak for a while before I went to clean it. I find soaking in hot soapy water is your friend when handwashing pots.Nice pot, should serve you well for many years. So far, no problems. The price is excellent for the quality. It's not made in France but I'm not sure that the French brands are made in France anymore...

We love the Sur La Table 3.75 quart Cast Iron All in one pan. It is perfect for soups, pasta dishes, or even small meals that you would normally cook in the crock pot!Notes-- Great non-stick surface! Clean-up is a breeze! We always wash in the sink with warm soapy water and avoid the dishwasher.- Looks very nice - this is a pan that looks nice as an accessory to your stove, and doesn't necessarily need to be stored away!- Very heavy - as you expect from something made of cast iron. The heat from the stove transfers very evenly across the entire cooking surface!

I haven't ever had a skillet / pan like this before, so I'm learning how to use it. I haven't tried using it in the oven yet. But for what I have used it for, I really like it.This is a heavy pan with a beautiful blue enamel finish on the outside, and what looks like cast iron on the inside. However, the instructions say that you can cook with and clean this pan like regular pans - you don't have to season it and you clean it with a mild soapy water. So I would say that the cast iron on the inside is coated in some way as well.I love how evenly this pan heats and how it holds the heat as well. If you're a seasoned cook who can touch hotter things without a problem, then the handles probably won't bother you too much. They do get rather warm, but not burning hot. I haven't looked to see if you can get handle covers in this shape yet for others in my family who do think they get too hot.Even with the things that I have cooked in this, it hasn't been hard to clean.Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.
