This is a Godsend!! Eliminates a lot of swearing, quickly and efficiently. If you ever take off the spring around your washer door seal, you really, really NEED this to re-install it. It is worth every penny it cost. Works perfect on the first and only try.

Bought two cheaper plier versions of this, both were described as 5", but were 4 and 4 1/4" when delivered. Lesson learned. I have a Maytag which requires a lot of stretching. This has the distance to get the job done ... barely (with needle nose pliers crimping the loops periodically to keep it from disengaging). For difficult situations, it's expensive, but worth it.

When I got my washing machine silicone gasket, I decided to get a pair of spring extender pliers... they were not large enough. I got this tool and it works amazingly, although, I did have to really stretch the spring, the metal rod did bend slightly, but went right back to it's original shape when I was done. This is the 4th rubber seal for my washing machine in 20 years. I no longer have the strength in my arms to stretch the spring and pull it the the other end of the cable. I wish I had seen this tool years ago. Only took a couple of tries and the silicone gasket is hard to stay in place while trying to get the cable around, but with this tool, I was done in 20 minutes. I highly recommend this tool for anyone trying to save money and do the job themselves.

Used to expand a washer bellow spring for Maytag Neptune stacked front load washer. The working space for this is quite restricted and requires more washer disassembly than if it were a free standing washer. The space to manipulate the expanded spring is also restricted.The spring can be expanded outside of the washer before applying it to the retaining cable that secures the bellows to the washer drum.The spring was very difficult to stretch without this device and it worked on the first try.The rod itself does flex a little the longer the spring is stretched given that the spring is quite strong.The small indentations where the spring is attached has to be monitored to make sure it doesn't pop out. This is complicated because of the bowing of the rod.You need to wear eye protection just in case.The product is constructed well except for the "bending" of the rod and the slightly undersized notches for the spring ends.The expander is expensive enough that the rod could be a little more ridged.

There are other options on the market but this is the only one (that I know of) that you can use both hands to handle.Simple and amazing, looks great, arrived on time and will last for future needs. Recommended!

I’m not handy at all and was able to get the tension spring on my front load washer in under 5 mins with this tool. Easily saving me $200+ from not having to have an appliance repair person come out to fix it. So easy to use!

I had to get at my pump lint trap which required taking the spring off the front. It was near impossible to get on. I finally managed with some clamps and zip ties from the ends of the spring to the ends of a large wrench. I was afraid I was going to rip my fingers off when I cut the zip ties. I found this device which should make this task much easier. I hope there is not a next time, But I wanted to have this on hand just in case because it's hard to go without a washer and my days of hanging out at a laundromat are long past.

If you have a large front load GE washing mashing you will need this to reinstall the bellow without damaging it. The pliers spreaders do not open wide enough. Overall this worked great when I had to replace the inverter board on my GE washing machine after a power surge wiped it out 1 month after the warranty was over. The cost to have a tech to just show up is over $100. Where I live so DYI is the way to go if are handy. Also recommend parts from partsdr.com super fast shipping and low prices.
