Between my temperamental machine and the challenges of sewing this almost invisible thread (and I got the smoke color- can’t imagine dealing with the colorless), the applique blocks in my quilt have certainly been the least fun I have ever had. This is supposed to be the best transparent thread on the market but I am about ready use it for hand applique. I gave it 5 stars because: 1.) the quick delivery 2.) the challenges are due to my inexperience with this thread and my cantankerous machine. Superior threads are excellent products.

Easier than other makes to use, went on the bobbin properly and stitching good polyester monofilament was recommended in my Alex Anderson’s machine quilting book

If you’re using a monofilament thread, this is the one to buy. Poly monofilament is far, far superior to nylon. Nylon can yellow with age, get brittle, and/or melt. The smoke color disappears into dark colored fabrics while the clear is best for lighter colors of fabric.

I usually hate sewing with invisible thread on the sewing machine. It’s usually finicky in my machine- breaks, tension issues, tangles in the bobbin, you name it - but this brand was a dream. Worked as well as any standard thread and turned out beautifully. Because of the fineness and translucent quality, it really does disappear leaving only the texture that the quilting makes in the loft of the batting. I bought both the light and dark versions and switched between them based on the fabric colors. Both were equally great quality.

stitches. Love this thread, it hides all my stitches. I am using to hand stitch a Yoyo guilt together and it is great!! I'm going to be using it for all my mending and many other sewing projects. I recommend this highly, great product!!

This thread is very easy to work with. No breakage and sews beautifully. Use the appropriate needles (70/10) and put a net on the thread and you will not have any issues.

Good for quilting, thread does not show. Hard to see thread when hand sewing.

After reading the 1* review about not finding the thread end, I was worried but took the chance, needing the ham about 10 pairs of wool pants of different dark colors. Got both colors, white and brown/smoke, and boy, are they expensive... Took a needle and worked the end out very carefully. It was tricky, but it worked. I agree, they should leave the end of thread in a slit on the bobbin (so I did that myself)... But I have to admit, it made the hemming a dream: no worries about the thread showing, so the ham is more secure. Also, the thread did NOT get knotted while sewing but I was able to securely knot the ends. GREAT performance for this type of thread!
