I loved this set of cards. The pictures and signs are very clear. I am using them to teach a 7th grader ASL and he really enjoys using them to learn new words. I do wish the picture of the word and the sign were on different cards and not front to back. That way we could have played a matching game with them. The box and cards are high quality and are holding up well in a school setting.

I'm going to preface this by saying, I don't hate this product. You get 400 cards and most of them are okay. But there are some issues with this product. For starters, they are not all ASL. Signs like truck, bus, and several others are actually SEE sign. I pretty much had to throw them out because I need only ASL signs for my student. Some of the illustrations are not very good. They're a little confusing. It isn't all of them, but some are... iffy.I also feel like a few of the illustrations were mixed up on the cards, like "Same" and "Yellow" look to me like they were swapped and someone didn't realize they were switched. I could be mistaken but if you own this, look at those signs and tell me if you see it as well. Also a few of the signs are pretty old. The sign for "What" they use here goes back to the late 80s/early 90s and isn't the sign predominantly today. You can still use it, certainly, and I think most of the Deaf Community will understand it, but they'll also probably wonder why you're using such an ancient sign. Finally, there is one card that should be thrown out entirely. That's the card for "Be." In ASL you generally don't use the word "Be" at all, but that's not my problem with this card. The illustration actually shows the ASL swear word for "b*tch." Real problem if you have kids using these cards. That said, I don't hate these cards. I threw out about 40 of them so 360 good ASL flash cards isn't a bad purchase, but I feel like unless you know sign language, you probably shouldn't buy these as someone learning it right away. If you do know ASL and it is a gift for someone else, then it's an okay purchase as long as you pick through it and toss out the cards that aren't appropriate.

I am a speech therapist and use these for work and I love them. They come in so handy. I have loaned that's my clients and it has made a huge difference in there communication skills. I also use them with my own kids, cause I think it is important to be able to communicate with everyone and my kids have had other students in there class whiners deaf and use sign. It makes that person feel important when someone else is willing to communicate with them.
