This unit works as advertised but is NOT for outdoor applications, which is why I purchased it. It get's four stars because it does everything that it is supposed to do, but if you want to use this outdoors, buy something else. It turns out that the sensor for the anemometer is based on measuring the number of times the blades of the vane pass a pair of sensors which are UV LIGHT SENSITIVE. In direct sunlight, and bright indirect sunlight, those sensors don't measure any change in light as the vanes pass. As a result, the velocity drops to ZERO. Move to the shade and the unit starts working again. The product is a good one and works exactly as advertised and is probably a great HVAC tool, but it doesn't work in direct sunlight.

Works for well. Make sure you change the batteries very 4 months for reliable use and readings

Seems okay but WILL NOT READ CFM and that is what I needed. Very nice cover slides over fan to protect it. Great idea.

Not very accurate but not bad for the price next time I will spend a little more and get a more accurate instrument
