The part claims to work for 2017 f150 but the REALITY is the part CANNOT be retro fitted. Long story short, spend the money, get the new tray assembly and save yourself the frustration of buying CRAP.

Installation was a breeze - not because of installation instructions, which there were none - YouTube Mechanics to the rescue.My problem is the quality - this product does not have the same gage wire making up the “gearing” on the outside of the wire. It also doesn’t appear to be as “fuzzy”, which would help with friction in the track. Unfortunately this product resulted in hours of work, dropping the headliner and the entire assembly to unjam the wire that worked itself out of the track. Went from a non functional but closed sunroof to a non functional and not closed sunroof.I never write reviews but this burned me up so bad - the theory of the product is great, we need more of that but the execution was poor.

Worked like described. A little tight but dropped the headliner, lowered the frame just enough and removed motor. I will be buying more. The alternative is buying the track assembly and about 16 hours of labor to remove airbags, and transfer all parts usually (4200$ in parts) there are great YouTube videos of how to do this to. I would say this is a highly technical procedure but great for us experts. They usually fail after about 3 to 5 years. These have been the correct length and alignment for the worm gear drive. I do not know the durability but as long as you regrease your lift jaws and don't use your sunroof you'll be fine. This is the weak point of your sunroof assembly besides the lift jaws.
