This was my second 11 speed cluster from SunRace, for an Ibis Ripley LS where I had worn out the old cluster. It is a better ratio of gears, without big jumps at the upper end, and lighter than Shimano's equivalent, at a great price. And now, a few more years down the road, I've bought a new 2023 custom built Ibis Ripley, and spec'd it using a 12 speed SunRace cluster with the same great features! They last and work well, and I will continue to use them..

Simply stated, it's cheaper than the Sram and Shimano alternatives and performs better. If you're on the fence about Sunrace, just buy it.... It's a no-brainer!

i installed this on a gravel build which could accommodate 11-42t using a 40t 1x crank. am using 2x11 shifters in the event i ever want to go to a FD.discovered the hard way that this cassette needed a 1mm spacer. without it, caused the cassette wobbled after tightening the lock ring. with the 1.85, which the frame/forks previous owner recommended, the lock ring was gauged by the drop out. just try to find a new SunRace red lock ring. they're listed on the company site, but not showing anywhere to purchase them.i just don't know why the bike industry does not make all this kind of info PUBLIC. in the instructions for cassettes, could they not throw in a 1mm - 1.5, 1.85 spacers and say how they work or when to try them?NOW that it's cinched up, it looks like it will spin fine, but other than the fact it looks so great in black with the red splines, i would likely go with a Shimano cassette next go round. though this is light, the rings feel inferior to and not as precise as Shimano.once i pedal it, i will let update this review as to whether the Sunrace shifts as well, but am highly skeptical. considering it is priced comparable to Shimano MTBs, am not quite sure how they justify the cost unless it truly is as good a performer - again, highly doubting but we shall see.

You will not find a better cassette for the price. Unless you’re a weight weenie. I’m over 200lbs and have a 100 miles on it great so far. It’s only like 10 grams heavier than sram GX

So far it has worked very well, really like the look of the cassette with the red anodized that matches my mountain bike.
