Monitor Your Pet’s Environment

An appropriate Environmental Temperature Range (ETR) within your pet's enclosure not only gives them more energy and makes them more active, but it also protects them from contracting any possible ailment. Different species of animals (and different types of plants) each have their own ideal living conditions. While some prefer a more dry or cold climate, others may need to live in a hot and humid habitat. As a dutiful pet and/or plant owner, it is highly recommended that you add the SunGrow Dual Thermo-Hygro Meter in order to precisely monitor both the temperature and humidity in their enclosures. Maintaining a proper environment means that your living creatures are far less likely to get sick or stressed and are far more likely to thrive and live long healthy lives.

How To Read the Gauges

Dependable and long-lasting, the 3” x 0.9” SunGrow Hermit Crab Habitat Humidity & Temperature Meter is large enough that it is easy to read but small enough to not distract from your pet’s natural habitat. Brightly colored sections make it easy to get a general reading from a distance, while thick and thin black lines and detailed labeling provide an accurate measurement up close. The temperature is measured in Fahrenheit and has a range of 0℉ to 120℉. Below 60℉ is colored blue and above 80℉ is colored red, so that the remaining green section signifies the perfect hermit crab temperature range of 60℉ to 80℉. The hygrometer gauge measures the moisture content from 0% to 100%. Moisture level under 40% is coded in blue, above 70% is coded red, leaving a green comfort zone in the middle of 40% - 70%.

Where to Place the Measuring Unit

To get the most accurate readings of the temperature and moisture content, here are a few helpful hints and recommendations. If your pet’s habitat is small to medium-sized, you will want to place the SunGrow Thermometer/Hygrometer Combo Unit inside and on the floor of your tank. It should be right in the middle of the tank to get the best reading without influence from external elements. For larger tanks (over 50 gallons), it is best to use two units, one on either end of the habitat. There is also a convenient hanging hole on the back of the lightweight durable measurement device for attaching to a wall when used outside of the tank.

They seem to hold up and work a lot better than the digital for some reason they were great. I recommend them for hermit crab tanks. I don’t know if they’re supposed to stick to the glass or sit on the bottom but anyhow they hold up the temperature humidity great.

I got this because I could put it in my crab's tank and it had the nice green zone indicators for the crab. I compared it to a nicer digital model to ensure everything was OK as seen in the pic.Temp was accurate by the hygrometer was way off. There is a brass dial in the back to adjust it, but it's useless and doesn't work.My recommendation is to avoid.

This works well and two gauges in one makes a smaller use of space. The adhesion is not very good in a humid tank. But the heavy duty plastic velcro fixed it right up.

We are using this gauge for a hermit crab. We just received it so I’m not sure how good it will work. But I am writing my review now based on package and instructions. The quality seems a bit cheap but can’t expect more I guess for the price. Also trying to read the instructions is quite a disaster. Lol. I will update my review as I see fit if this works or not.
