About this item

  • Encourages picky eaters to eat more --- Some fish are more finicky than others or maybe a bit shier and do not want to eat with the other fish. The SunGrow Floating Fish Feeding Ring allows you to feed specialty foods to the pickier fish while sprinkling standard floating fish food to the general population of fish. It won’t take long for your finicky fish to quickly learn that the square fish feeder is where to find their supper.
  • Restrains fish from being bullies --- A great way to restrict fish in a community tank from being bullies is to use multiple floating feeding rings. Fill one square fish feeder and allow your more aggressive fish to dash over to eat. Once they are occupied, add floating fish food to a second feeding square for the timider fish. Bullies can’t hog all the rings, so add as many as you feel necessary so all your fish can eat in peace.
  • Lessens debris by keeping food contained --- By placing your pet fish’s food directly into the feeder square, it restricts the flakes and pellets from floating into the filter. A clearer aquarium filter is far more effective at keeping your tank’s water at a higher quality level and diminishes excess debris throughout the tank.
  • Fits perfectly in a fish tank --- At a convenient size of 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm), the lightweight Square Feeding Ring for small fish from SunGrow is constructed of high-quality plastic. It comes complete with a matching black suction cup to hold it securely in place. You also have the option of allowing the fish feeder to float freely along the surface of your freshwater tank or saltwater aquarium.
  • Saves fish owners’ time and money --- Effective and creative, the Square Feeding Ring for your neon tetra, guppy, and goldfish is fantastic at saving money on excess food, maintaining high-quality water and reducing filter clogging. Placing your flakes into a specified area means that you can control the dispersal of food and more is eaten and less is thrown away. Less stray food and filter clogs allow you to spend less time tank maintaining and more time enjoying with your pet fish.

Feeding Ring

Can I Use This Floating Feeder in Any Aquarium?

fbdfgb

From guppy and goldfish to tetras, gouramis and mollies, freshwater and saltwater fish of all types benefit from the floating feeder square. A single feed ring works for smaller aquariums while larger fish tanks with numerous community fish may need a couple feeding stations.

The Ultimate Maintenance Hack!

How Does it Benefit Aquarium and Fish?

dfgbdfg

Clean tank

Loose, uneaten food scattered about your aquarium is unattractive and can create issues if it gets stuck in your water filter or pump.

dfgbdfgb

Monitored feeding

For picky eaters, add specialty food to a specific feeding ring; it won’t take long for him to figure out where to get his favorite treats.

dfgbdfg

Minimize food waste

With our floating feeder, fish food doesn't get caught up in strong water currents produced by air pump or filter and fish has a fine chance to eat.

dfgdfg

Targeted Feeding

A bully fish can only be at one floating feeder at a time, so while he is occupied, the other fish are free to eat from their own feeding station.

  • The lightweight, buoyant plastic feeder stays afloat and automatically moves up and down with the water levels. Between the secure suction cup and the feeding ring is a rotating rod. This allows the floating feeder to bounce gently with water flow.

  • Create a lively aquaspace with your favorite floating plants because these do not obstruct either the view or the feeder. Thus, your fish has a clear space to feeding and allows them to breathe in the open area.

  • If your tank hood has just a tiny opening for feeding, then the square may not end up in a convenient place relative to the opening in the hood since the square sticks out a couple of inches from the suction cup attaching it to the side of the tank.

  • The feeder is ideal for feeding in tanks with movement at water surface. It may not work when water level is so high and the glass isn't dry. Since the food stays inside the ring, it helps in keeping both the aquarium and your filter clear.

  • Fill one square fish feeder and allow your more aggressive fish to dash over to eat. Once they are occupied, add floating fish food to a second feeding square for the timider fish. This is, therefore, an ideal way to observe your fish community.

it’s supposed to float but the side that’s not connected to the wall of the tank just keeps sinking into the water. making the whole thing useless. do NOT buy this product.

Keeps the food in place until its ready to sink in a controlled area. Some of my fish hit it before it sinks and enjoy that as well. Becomes detached sometimes but who cares, its still awesome

Wow what a great idea! This really keeps food in one area. Keeps your bowl cleaner. If your fish is smart, like mine, they’ll know where to go. Worth every penny! Sturdy , appearance is hardly noticeable (good thing) fits in even a small tank and would work in a bigger one too. If you have a large tank maybe get 2

The suctions cups keep breaking free of the glass and it just floats around the tank with one sie a little heavier than the other from the arm hanging down. It's a good size and would be perfect for my needs but I also need it to stay put. You CAN just let the square float around (pull the arm off and it will float flat) and if that suits your needs than it works fine for the money.

At first my fish was afraid of it but quickly learned his food was in it and now he’s fine. It holds the food and works great.

Pros: big, floats above water line, well designedCons: bad suction cupSuction cup is tiny and comes undone after a couple days. I'll probably replace it, but it's truly too small for how big this feeding ring is. If they included a suitable suction cup this would be a 5 star product.

Very happy with this product. Swift delivery, and my Bettas have quickly learned to hang around inside or out of the feeding ring whenever they want to beg for a lil bite to eat, lol! They're like little dogs hanging around the treat cupboard expectantly 😂 Works great to keep the food waste in a small and easily cleanable space. Wasn't sure what to expect but I'm thoroughly impressed that this simple product does such a great job. :)

Well these definitely work. I placed them in our Betta Sorority tank and they are helping the feeding situation there. The picture makes it look like the float it attached with a string to the suction cup; it's not. That's definitely a plastic stick of some sort- Firm- so it pushes the "ring" (which is square..w/e) away from the tank wall. Then the "ring" itself is large enough for a grown Betta Splenden (2"-3" with male finnage) to fit inside. All in all we're talking a fair amount of real estate considering most males live in 5 gallons on the high end.I attempted to put this in my Marinelife 5g Portrait, and with its strange sliding glass lid, most of the food ended up on the plastic edges of the "ring". (If I switch to a fully submersible heater I'm sure I could get a wider/deeper opening from the lid and that might solve the issue.)On the 5g Fluval Spec the hole in the lid seems ideally cut to use this; however the thing was so huge, I was going to need to rearrange my Betta leaves to use it. The Spec's light bar makes the only logical place to put it at the end opposite of the filter components. My Sorority is in a standard 20g tall for now and that's where I've been using these feeder "rings". They are way helpful simply bc my Alpha kinda takes one over, then everyone else can eat in peace. I only wish they had clear suction cups so I felt comfortable adding another to the front of the tank. I've got 2 in there right now, and they absolutely need one more.I would recommend them more for traditional or larger tanks simply bc of space and I definitely recommend them for anyone doing a Sorority. They're probably also ideal for community tanks with different fish eating different kinds of food.Bettas are super smart, and after I fed them in these "rings" the first time they kept checking back in the "rings" anytime they saw me for more food. :) So they form that association almost instantly, at least my fish did.The reason I'm not ..woo 5stars!.. is bc of 1) the ugly black suction cup- literally every other suctiony thing Out in all my tanks has a clear suction cup. (Black suctions are on the heater holder clsmps, and on the bottom of filter motors... Business pieces away in the Back) I would appreciate a better More Clear suction cup.. I don't appreciate the black cup unless they were intending this to go on the back wall of the integrated filter tanks... 2) the stick. It's weird. It takes up space. It's not a piece of string.. so many reasons.
