I was exited to receive my new Radio.Very disappointed after the first start.Software always freez.Many times restart to solve the problem.Touchscreen works also bad.My advice, don't buy! Waste money 😔

This internet radio has one feature that sets it apart: one can access a multitude of podcasts as well as stations. Since Squeezebox, which had the absolute best in terms of podcast availability, stopped functioning, this Sungale is the next best thing.It has its issues though, I think mostly attributable to a somewhat less-than-adequate on-board computer. It is VERY slow to boot up, and the touch-screen tabs do not respond quickly and may take multiple tries to activate. Also, if you accidentally touch the wrong selection, it may take several minutes to go through its process before you can go back to the screen you wanted. It does not encourage 'looking around' for stations. This issue is compounded unmercifully by the dreadfully cumbersomeTuneIn server. Every station is preceded by up to five minutes of commercials before it actually loads in the station. You go through this with every station, and every time you turn the radio on. I tend to select one and stay on it for a while, because it is so clumsy to go through the process again.But, once on a station, the radio is top quality. It is lightweight and attractive, and the speakers are clear and substantial for ones so small. Plenty of power for normal listening. Just needs some more power and quicker accessibility. Also, 'used' models can be had for a very reasonable price.

Good: Internet radio options, speakers, usb, stylus, battery, headphone jack, power cord, Wifi.Bad : Limited built-in free radio choices, Super sensitive touch screen, Sound gets garbled when screen sleeps, no Bluetooth, slow responding at times.Attractive: Compact unit, nicely built with stereo speakers with bottom facing woofer.Summary: 5 stars are given based on versatility. And ability to use downloaded wifi app to control wifi speakers. Also ability to connect other internet radio stations via web browsers. There are many free internet radio options with few ads available via internet. For best results, find a favorite station and lock on to it. Saves from using cellphone battery while listening to internet music. A dedicated Internet Radio, available on Amazon, is recommended for the technically challenged.

This upgraded 3rd generation + unit not only plays Internet Radio, but also supports full PLAYSTORE Apps! Faster processor, and increased memory makes this player so enjoyable to use. The size is smaller than expected and makes this creative form factor more portable. A Velcroed battery pack extends the power duration. If you like creative gadgets to play with, this Sungale is lots of fun!

The unit I received was locked in "airplane mode". I finally got through to the manufacturer's help line and they informed me that could ONLY happen when a unit had been used, cleared and then returned.The unit looked new, came in the original packaging and worked fine once the help line took me through the factory reset process.It works OK. I'm not happy that it insists on playing a commercial every time I change stations.

too small, too awkward to be useable. not able to return because they send a ups ground label but needs a 2nd day air label that seems impossible to get through customer service. should I pay for postage, or just eat it?

Was not describe accurately. Sent back to Sungale refused refund and returned it back to me stated it was not defective. Had to join Google to use and will not function with iPhone or any Apple device. Will never use Google or Android. Returned to Amazon for refund.

No IR/RF remote so I can't interface with the home automation system. Headphone jack seems finicky. The operating system isn't the latest -- it's Android 10 - so home much longer are the latest and greatest apps going to be supported? -- no wonder they have their own (really slow) repository of apps that work with Android 10. It's probably going to go back based on the "latest operating systems" claim. I make take an old phone and some speakers and 3D print an enclosure and roll my own.

I see this radio being listed in the top 10 on many websites. I suspect the creators of these websites do not actually really use and test the radios they review. This radio would be in the bottom tier of radios if someone actually tested it.This thing is not really an internet radio. It is a 4.3" tablet attached to some speakers.The tablet part is embedded into a frame such that you cannot really touch the screen anywhere close to the edges. So it is effectively a 3.5" touch screen.It does come with a stylus which is an absolute must have if you are trying to press anything on the screen.Now as for performance:All of the included internet radio apps, are simply downloaded from the play store. They are full of ads. You need accounts to use many of them.It probably takes about 30s after turning the radio on before you can listen to a station.Note: I did find an internet radio app on google play that had no ads and it did download and work.And if this is not a deal breaker, the following certainly was. The volume control of this radio is digital and it has off and 7 levels. The lowest level is too loud for having the radio next to you. My phone has 16 or 20 levels of volume, and it is not even a good phone.I had purchased this to replace another dedicated internet radio that I have been using. Its internet connection is getting quite flakey, requiring multiple reboots an hour.I will look for a dedicated internet radio, and I would suggest others do the same.
