This framing tool is great and arrived pretty quickly after a couple of weeks. The functionality is great for anyone who is doing framing work and makes the job go by quick if you are doing it on your own.

I ordered the Stud 16 Framing Spacing Tool and it has been a big help for my projects. I alkready have a 16 and a 24 inch version of this tool. This one helps because now two people can be at each end of the wall and the spacing will be the same. This tool makes framing walls a lot easier by taking out the guesswork in your stud spacing. It adjusts from 12 to 18 inches, which is really convenient for different spacing needs, not just 12 and 16 inches.The tool is sturdy but lightweight - even lighter than others I have. The markings are clear and itโs simple to adjust the settings. It holds firmly in place once you set it, so you donโt have to keep re-measuring. I thought the set screws that hold it at a particular length wouldn't hold up but so far they haven't givien me any problems.Using this tool definitely makes the process smoother. Itโs a solid choice for anyone looking to make stud framing work quicker and more efficient. Iโm really glad to have it in my toolbox and would recommend it to others.

This is a nice framing tool. I like that it is adjustable from 12-18 stud spacing on center. The tool is lightweight, compact and very portable. The sliding portion of the tool has a 6" ruler on it. Given it's purpose I'm not sure why the markings are not just from 13-18" rather than a full 6" ruler, but that's just nit picking since its easy to remember that the closed tool starts at 12" and you can go up from there. The tool is easy to adjust to the desired length and the two set screws held it firmly in place with hand tightening only.I do also like that the tool comes with a total of four set screws so there are two extra. The instructions are pretty self explanatory. The one truly key bot of info is the size of the set screws in case you need to get replacements. There is one error in the instructions where it mentions the tool is suitable for crafting frames from 16-24 inches which is clearly wrong since this is a 12-18inch framing tool.All in all this is a solid tool with a lot of versatility.

We are in the midst of redoing a section of our basement which required framing and putting up a wall. I heard about a stud framing tool from a friend, which is what brought me to and led me to ultimately select this product. I'll start by saying, this is fantastic addition for anyone doing wall framing. Although it's not necessary "essential", it absolutely saved me time in not having to mark every 16" for the boards, hold it steady and screw in. It did everything except screw the boards together - haha.The quality of the product is awesome and it is easy to adjust to meet your needs.The only thing worth calling out (as seen in the pictures), the instructions, description online and the tool itself do not match. Between the tool and the instructions itself, I found three different variations of how far the product can expand: 12-18in, 12-16in and 16-24in. The latter one is incredibly misleading at that, haha. I only used it for the 16" frame but it appears to go from 12-18in.That concern above isn't a big deal to me as the product works as intended and is well made.Overall, if you're going to be doing significant framing, this truly is a must have and makes things just that much quicker and easier to be worth the purchase.

It definitely makes framing easier, that is for sure. But I wish it was marked out on the handle the inches a little better; only one part is, but not the other, so you have to measure it and (after not using it for awhile) re-measure it. It is pretty solid and well-made, but not sure how necessary it would be for a big-time contractor or builder. For a DIYer, this is good because it will help you move a little faster and get it done quicker, as well as keeping your work square. It also is small enough to carry around in a tool kit. Unfortunately, it's smaller size also means that it is easy to lose on a messy job site -- so keep your work area clean folks! Not their fault, just a general comment we have from using it!Overall, I would recommend this product. It could be a little better, but it isn't all that bad. Definitely helps us go faster and keep things cleaner, so worth it!
