Put simply, this hitch adapter is beyond bad quality and I do not recommend anyone purchasing this unit. One side 5/8" lock pin hole is too small to admit the pin while the other side is ok. The anti-rattle bolt hole threads are not only painted over but also have weld puddle and slag so the bolt won't go in. The square tube, instead of being seamless like any good quality towing accessory, is seam welded very badly so it is going to scrape up any stinger slid into it besides messing with anti-rattle wedge tighteners on bike carriers. The plate the square tube is welded to is warped due to the welding of the "reinforcing" struts. Worst of all are the actual square tube to plate welds which are of varying penetration, uneven, and are left with splatter on the metal. They are so bad I won't trust it to hold my bicycle carrier with 2 bikes on it. This unit was made in China (PRC) and appears to have been a student's 1st week high school welding shop exercise.I ordered this last winter but didn't get a chance to install it until now due to the weather and where my RV was parked. I didn't even open the box until now because I thought "how bad can you mess something like this up" and I had read previous reviews that said it was a good product.....that have now disappeared. Hence I am way past the return date so I'm stuck with it even though I won't use it. I'm ordering a different brand replacement to use instead.

First...I bought this one because out of the lower priced ones, this was a Stromberg and I trusted the name. Well, it is beautiful....looks real strong too. It took me time to install because I have a very bad back and only had wrenches, no sockets. Ok. Then, when I went to put a pin in it....I discovered the hole is not big enough. Both sides....too damn small. To make matters even worse, the securing screw....well that hole has no threads in it. WOW! This really sucks. Now, maybe someone can tell me what size drill bit to make the whole the correct width, as I do not want to remove and return.Be advised, you might have the same issue ordering. Big let down from Stromberg for sure.
