I used this product for no more than 5 minutes before it broke. One of the teeth on the sharpening part literally just fell off. Before you ask yes I read the instructions. Also the product is really small and if you have big hands I would not recommend. In the 5 minutes of use my knuckles and fingers got very sore due to very little room.

You have to love a product that says its not used for sharpening, rather just meant to get you home. Once home you need to buy new blades or get blades sharpened. I bought this to sharpen my blades, not just get a bit of an edge. With blades running almost 100$ now I had hopes this would keep me going instead of just throwing away blades. Ice here gets 4 and much more feet thick for months so sharp blades are a must. and if you have serrated blades, this is also not for you.

Great idea but didn't really helped had better luck sharing it with a stone.

My blades had never been sharpened after 3 or 4 seasons of use and were pretty much unusable--would take 10 minutes and much sweat to cut a hole in the ice. When I couldn't get them sharpened at a shop in time to use them the following weekend, I ordered these to see what they could do. Wow, what a difference. A few swipes with these and the blades cut like new. Great addition to my ice fishing bag.

Feels alittle cheap as the handle is plastic but overall she sharpened the blades right up and it was reassuring knowing it was made to be used on my auger blades. I usually pop 30 holes then give a blade a sharpen.

Works great, with a couple passes i could feel the burrs grind down on my auger blades, and i didn't even have to take em off.

Got this in the middle of the ice fishing season once my auger blades went dull. I was skeptical but after sharpening it the night before heading out, it was like brand new! If you do get this product, I recommend sharpening the blades before going out because it does take a bit. Probably 10 minutes of straight sharpening but 100% worth it.

I have a hand power auger and after the first sharpening, I noticed the cutting power and speed increased. It still takes me time to go through a foot of ice, but this is perfect whether you have a hand, gas, or electric auger to keep sharp blades. I'm a lefty so I feel like it takes some extra time and effort to get a level sharpness, but it's good anyway. Nice to know it'll always be in my bucket!

Works great! But will not sharpen old dull blades. Works for fine tuning new blades.

I haven't actually had a chance to try this out yet. It is exactly as described and I am pleased with my purchase and the seller. I read a lot of reviews before deciding to buy and wonder after having gotten it, did all the people who said this is a waste of time read the packaging? It says clearly on the package that this sharpener is not intended to re sharpen the blades continually but rather to tune them up if they should be dulled while out in the ice. Getting you through the day and the ice. After that they recommend replacing your blades. I read a lot of reviews talking about sending the blades out for sharpening. Either way all it is designed for is to keep them sharp enough to finish the day.

This worked ok for my husband. He said that it could have sharpened things better, but he also thinks his blades are junk so that might be the issue. Either way, it was difficult to get the auger to break through the ice, even after sharpening.

Every ice fisherman knows how important it is to keep you auger blades sharp. This handy little tool does just that. It works great for regular and routine sharpening, and will even take care of and remove minor knicks. Works best if you regularly touch up your blades after drilling 4 or 5 holes through the ice and again at the end of the day. This will NOT touch up seriously dull blades!
