This item does not work on a 2019 silverado out of the box. The groove machined in tool is to narrow to lock on pulley. I had to put a new grinding wheel in a 4 inch angle grinder and make the grove wider to lock onto fully so tool would work!

Belts sometimes don't install easily and I thought it would work great for me since I have a couple of vehicles. So far it doesn't seem like it's a fit for any of the three vehicles I have, but I'll keep it in my mechanic tool box for future use.The part was really robust and quite quality much to my surprise. It felt firm in my hand and I didn't see any nicks or poor craftsmanship on this part. It seems pretty well built, solid, and the bolt used on it feels strong too. It's a shame it didn't fit on either my Ford or Chevy, but again... It might come in handy soon. I am looking for another vehicle anyway.I still think it was a good value for the money. If I do find a vehicle this is compatible with, I'll use it and take a photo. Sometimes I have neighbors in need of some help anyway.

I have needed one of these for a very long time. I finally broke down and got this one and it is great! Now no belt will get the better of me. This little tool is perfect. It is sturdy and well made. I can't wait to have a reason to use it! Someone said it will only work for flat belts. But I was fiddling with it under the hood and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for V-Belts too. I definitely recommend this great little tool!

Last time I had to change the alternator belt after upgrading it, it was such a huge hassle even with another pair of hands. Was even harder when i broke the tension release bar to make it easier to replace. With this it's a lot easier to just slip the belt in and I don't have to rely on riskier methods to put the belt on. Very well thought out little thing. It slides in and holds well on its own without tampering too much. Maybe having to hold it in place a bit while you're first stretching the belt onto the car parts and the tool. But once you get the ball rolling you're gonna be just fine.

Would not work on Ford edge due to bolt not long enough. If the pulley is not flat, will not work.

This little tool basically works as a wedge to allow you to guide your belts on and off more easily during maintenance. Most vehicles have idler pulleys that are spring loaded that are for the same purpose. The problem with them are that some are installed in some very tight spots to where it takes an extra long wrench to get on the nut to apply pressure on the spring. I am right handed and it always puts my hands and arms at awackard position while using the wrench with my right hand and trying to hold and install the belt with my left hand. This little tool allows you to use component pulleys in the upper more easier accessible areas of the engine. You only have to worry about one pulley once you have the belt routed correctly on your engine. Use a wrench to turn the pulley in the proper direction for uninstalling or installation of the belt with one hand while feeding the belt on or off the guide tool from the pulley with the other hand. I suggest playing around with it at first to get the feel of it before you just jump into a job. It's super easy to use and well made. A great little knuckle and time saver to have in your special tools drawer.

This is a "must have" tool for replacing an AC Compressor belt on many GM Models. If your vehicle's belt is a "stretch" belt, that is because the AC Compressor is fixed. This is needed to simply pop the belt on.
