Stormy Kromer began in 1903 as an in-home operation. After 16 years of high demand for George and Ida’s popular windproof six-panel cap, the couple opened their first factory in 1919. Since then, the company has grown exponentially, expanding their catalog along the way. Stormy Kromer leadership has maintained the vitality of the company's ongoing legacy by offering a multitude of sizes, colors, and styles while remaining true to producing high-quality products from start to finish.

Family

Stormy Kromer is based in Ironwood, Michigan and headed by the Jacquart family — Bob and Denise, and daughters Gina and KJ. We have strong roots in Ironwood. In fact, several of our ancestors were among the pioneers who settled the town. We’ve opened and grown businesses here since the early 1900s. We guess you can say it’s in our blood.
Manufacturing
When you pop a Stormy Kromer cap on your head, you’re supporting American workers. Nearly all of our manufacturing is done in the USA. Those few items that aren’t created here are made by carefully chosen partners who share our high standards for quality and ethics.
Quality starts with materials and people. We search the globe for the most comfortable, durable fabrics and trim materials, and then we put them in the hands of our talented, capable craftspeople here in Michigan. From designers to cutters to sewing machine operators, our team is meticulous and experienced.

Ordered Charcoal and Tan. What I received was MUCH darker, did NOT have the Advertised Embroidery, the leather used looks & feels like paper thin Costume Pleathure.They are warm, but due to cheaplooking materials, cheaplooking mass production, lack of craftsmanship, and false advertising, they should not be sold anywhere for more than $5.Very disappointed, I spent many winter & summer vacations with grandparents in Michigan, and Im always looking for Business to support.

These mittens are warm and comfortable. I use them when clearing snow with my tractor which is not heated. Mittens are warmer than gloves with individual fingers and these mittens do not retain moisture so they are especially warm. Highly recommended for cold climate work and play. The wool back does hold onto snow so keeping them clear of snow is important to stay warm.

My first go around with mitts. I have large hands and got the XL size. There’s plenty of room in the mitts. I might have gone Large instead of XL. Takes time for them to break in. I haven’t given up my gloves just yet. It’s taking time to make them my go to. They block the wind. They are warm. Haven’t really given them the snow test to see if they get wet or not. Will leave another comment later in the winter and we will see if I give them a thumbs up or down. Right now its a sideways thumb.

I couldn't find these locally or on their website so was glad to pick them up on Amazon. They are warm, well made and keep my hands from getting chilled on my non-heated steering wheel. Only comment is they run narrow, if that makes sense. I have long fingers and I wouldn't say big hands, just average. Still, worth the money!

Measured my hand and got the size recommended. They fit pretty good, a little long but acceptable. If you're working while wearing these, your hands will stay toasty. Because they are a bit long on my hands, my fingers took about 15 minutes to finally warm up. And boy oh boy, they got too warm. So, all in all, they do what was advertised

These are very warm, and of very good quality. I should've gone a size larger, as the palm is a tad narrow.
