I was eager to replace the gas cap on my chainsaw, but the experience turned into disappointment. As I gently pushed the cap’s retainer tether into the gas tank, it immediately broke, sending the plastic tether into the tank, never to be retrieved. A crucial part like this should be durable enough to handle basic installation without failing, and now I’m left concerned about potential issues from the plastic piece floating in the fuel. This is a poorly designed component that needs serious improvement.

This cap fit my 30yr old 029 perfectly, it sealed up well and appears very well made. It was definitely worth the reasonable price.
