This standalone USB duplicator lets you clone or erase two flash drives without connecting to a host computer.

1:2 Drive Duplication
The USB cloner lets you copy up to two drives simultaneously. It offers asynchronous and synchronous duplication, with speeds of up to 1.5GB per minute. Asynchronous duplication lets you remove and replace a drive while the other drive continues to copy.

The duplicator features two duplications modes: system and file or whole drive. System and file provides reduced duplication times. It copies partitions and stored data but ignores any sections with empty space. Whole drive takes more time because it does a sector-by-sector (mirror image) duplication of the drive. This duplication mode is ideal when you need to capture everything on the drive, including hidden data.

Erase Two Drives Simultaneously
The USB flash drive duplicator lets you wipe USB drives two at a time and supports several erase modes including: quick-erase, full-erase and secure-erase.

Secure-erase meets global requirements, including the new NIST (SP 800-88 Rev1) standards, ensuring that all drives are properly wiped.

Easy to Use
The standalone USB duplicator features an LCD display so that you can monitor erasing and duplication to ensure completion. It also has four shortcut keys for easy operation.

USBDUP12 is TAA compliant and backed by a StarTech.

I needed to build several hundred USBs for work. I usually use multiple USB hubs and slowly copy data into them, but for whatever reason it's not been as smooth as it has been in the past. Lots of migration errors. So, I did some research because surely someone has come up with a standalone USB copier. And they have. The larger ones, with more ports, are incredibly expensive. But this one, with just 3 ports (1 for the source, and 2 to copy into) is the cheapest option I could find. But even being the cheapest, it's still a really functional and well built device.*** Pros ***- Self-contained unit, you don't need anything else (except power and the USBs)- Can be used to copy data, but also format- Includes instructions on how to use it, which are easily understood- Menu is easily navigated- Comes with power unit- Display is basic and functional, but bright and easy to read- Plug and play, with one button copy makes batch building USBs really easy- Times the total migration, so you can walk off knowing how long a migration will take- DoD level wipe is offered*** Cons ***- USB 2 speeds are slow. Migrating 10GB took ~20 minutes*** Overall ***I wish I bought this before. If you're creating a bunch of USBs and need to copy data from an existing USB, then I'd highly recommend that you consider this device over using a USB hub. More reliable, more dedicated to the role, and you don't need a computer on to run it.

A simple machine that works very well. Copied a 4.2GB FAT32 USB 2.0 to another of the same brand and size in about 9 minutes. The buttons were a little difficult to read, so I solved the problem by carefully filling in the recessed area in each button with white out. After it dried, I used my fingernail or a plastic spoon or knife to carefully remove the excess above the recessed symbols. Looks great.

The product works like a charm. It was easy to use right out of the box and i bought it since they aren't making older IDE hard drive any more and the trend is to upgrade to SD hard drives. The device works great on making copies of flash drives and it also supports SD cards so it's ausome to have!!! I'm not sure if you have to buy the StarTech.com brand of memory card adapters but I did since they where only $20.00 either way this was the best one for it's value and it works great for doing backups! Either way great price for a great item that works like it should right out of the box!

I am always a little skeptical about innovative computer items, having been bitten a number of times. Example; USB to HDMI convertors, usually as reliable as a 1990's PCs!Anyway, this item is awesome. The easiest way to use this device is to plug your USB into the source slot (slot 1) and the intended copy or copies into slots 2 and/or 3. Press the power-on button and it quickly boots up, finds the original USB in slot 1 and with no further instructions from you, it clones all the data on the original to the USBs in slots 2 and/or 3. What I really like about this is that it erases everything on the USBs in slots 2 and 3 and you don't have to screw around with multiple copies on the same flashdrive. This is a stand alone device and your PC is not involved. Fantastic.

I use this device daily in a large IT environment to clone our imaging flash drives among other tasks and it has been reliable and easy to use. Depending on the target flash drive, we have averaged anywhere between 7-22 minutes to clone two 16GB drives. The duplicating speed is not an issue as this device is run as a background task. The ability to "set it and forget it" and not tie up a computer to software clone a flash drive has been invaluable and was the primary driving force behind this purchase. This item was the perfect combination of utility and price, as the jump up to a 1:5 duplicator is much higher and not necessary for our needs.
