I needed a null modem cable for a particular application and I believe I tested the relevant pins but I couldn't get it working. In the end, I made my own which did work as expected. I'm not sure if this cable is defective or if it uses some standard(s) outside of my use case. The RX ad TX pins are swapped between one end and the other, however. Very strange.

These cables are perfect, typical quality product that you always get with StartechTested in an industrial application, will use again... and at 2.49 each a bargain.Note to the readers, these are NULL Modem cables thus pins 2 & 3 are crossed I guess the reviewer that said it doesnt work needed a "standard" serial cable

It is a nice cable. Except that in my work it needs to be connected in a way that pin position does not change. #6 is changed to #4. I almost threw away if I did not check with multimeter.

It is a cable and it works. One thing to note, if you are using this for a powered device via the serial cable it won't work. Didn't realize this so in the end I did not use the cable. But it did work, just not as a power supply cable.
