The size is smaller which I like but the quality and speed is great! Its suction is strong! There is no battery, it gets plugged in. The pencils get sharpened quickly!

We have had this pencil sharpener for 3 months. We love it! Regular pencils, colored pencils - everything we have sharpens great. The shavings drawer stays in place, unlike some other sharpeners I have used. It's not adjustable, but we don't have much need to sharpen nonstandard pencil sizes. Great value!

Seems to work flawlessly. I'm a composer and write a lot on manuscript when charting out new material. This gives me an excellent point, is quick and it's quiet. For the price, what's not to like?

UPDATE 12/28/2024 the picture is after sharpening. I wish I could personally return this pencil sharpener to the CEO of Bostitch and tell him or her how ashamed that they should be for selling such a horrible product. In January, it will be a year since I purchased this item. I’m done. I’m ordering a new pencil sharpener in a different brand. I’m hoping it will be better than this one. I’m sure somebody from the company monitors these reviews. Not one person from Bostitch reached out.UPDATE: 9/15/2024 - Ive been dealing with this WORTHLESS pencil sharpener for over 8 months now. It’s truly pathetic!!!! I again wanted to say don’t waste your money!!! I live on a very limited income so that’s one reason I haven’t bought another one of a different brand. Bostitch USED to be a well-respected and trusted name, that’s why I bought this one. Apparently not anymore!!!!I bought this pencil sharpener back in January. My pencil sharpener of almost 30 years finally died on me. It was a nice heavy pencil sharpener and did a great job. This pencil sharpener barely sharpens the pencils. It doesn’t evenly sharpen. It leaves a very small pointed tip not a nice sharpened pencil. On top of that, it will only do about five pencils before it overheats and shuts off. I’m very disappointed with it. This name brand has always been good, but it deceived me this time. I would not recommend.

I love this sharpener. It works great. My students broke one that I purchased before ( the same one), so I ordered it again. Sharpens quickly. It will get hot after sharpening a lot of pencils, and it will not sharpen any more. That's normal. Just give it some time to cool down, and it'll work just as great.

This thing works great. I didn’t realize when I bought it that it was a plug-in, but it’s ok. I’m a homeschool mama and we are constantly sharpening pencils. They come out easily and perfectly sharp. The first two times my kids used it, it stopped working. We think it was because it overheated with the amount of pencils that we were sharpening (maybe 30 at a time? We were desperate for sharp pencils). We let it cool down and it worked again, and never had trouble with it since.

I didn't like the fact that I had to turn the pencil around as it sharpen as though the blade was not Sharp enough to do it on its own for me.

It's made for 120V, not 220V. No indication about that in the product. Thrown away to garbage right away

Works so well that in fact, would recommend to be careful. Pencils get sharpened quickly but would not recommend leaving kids to use it alone.Looks like it is built to last. Very happy with it.
