I really needed a new lock for the trunk of my 74 Plymouth Valiant. This did the job just fine. Pretty close to oem. Since the original trunk key was always stand alone seperate from the door and ignition, there was no issue in having a new key. It comes with 3 different rods of which my vehicle uses the short curved one.

TL;DR This lock and a little ingenuity can fix an expensive problem for under $20 dollars.I happened upon a 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK-320 which the prior owners abused. The car is a gem, it runs perfectly with zero engine issues (they truly didn't understand what they had), and while the asking price was unbelievably low, there are some small (but expensive) cosmetic problems with the poor thing. The prior owners suffered a dead battery at some point (the battery is in the trunk), lost the emergency key (blade) and decided to pry the trunk lock out with a screw driver instead of calling a locksmith or getting another blade from the dealer. This was something that needed to be fixed so my trunk contents (and battery) don't get stolen while I'm working. However, while I need the trunk to be secure, I can't immediately afford $500 dollars in dealer-only parts, so I had to improvise.Unfortunately, you will _not_ find any videos or posts detailing somebody monkeying the trunk lock on their Mercedes quite like I did (or at all). The short of it is, I bent the rod on this lock cylinder in such a way that I could hook it up to what was left of the latch mechanism in the trunk of the CLK so when you turn the key in the lock, it unlocks the trunk. It's not going to impress anyone or win any competitions, it's not 100% theft-resistant, but it works until I can afford the replacement parts. Never listen to someone who tells you "it can't be done without oem parts," you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

If your looking for a cheap replacement they are ok, if your looking for something that is solid and more like OEM stay away.
