This review is for the variation of this newel post that includes a shoe for the bottom and that also includes 4 mounting brackets and screws. It's very nice.The newel post arrived in pristine condition do to the the way it was meticulously packed with the newel post and shoe wrapped inside 2 layers of foam sheeting and more foam cushioning along the sides of the box.The post is well finished and flawlessly painted with a satin finish true white. We left the post exactly like this. It could be painted, of course, with a high gloss or other finish to your liking. The satin finish and the crisp design is exactly what we were looking for. It gives a clean modern look that would serve well in any home. We have an older home that this design brings up to date.This post came with 4 secure L shaped brackets that screw into the floor and into the post along with a large bag of screws. The shoe that came with this version fits neatly over all the hardware giving a seamless professional finished look.

This replaces Newell posts that are garbage next to this. Its made well and with though, and looks amazing.

This newel post has a clean look. The wood feels solid, though I did have to do a little extra sanding for a smoother finish before painting. Overall, a great option if you want a classic, no-fuss stair post!
