These rods are very high quality. They appear to be ground and polished. The measured diameter is 4.99-5.00 mm. The rods are abrasive saw cut, which leaves straight, not distorted ends. The magnet is not attracted to them, which supports the claim the material is 304 stainless steel.I want to note that the diameter is 5 mm and not 3/16" as the description may lead you to believe. 3/16" is equal to 4.76 mm. A common 3/16" 5C lathe collet will not accept this rod, you need to get a 5 mm collet.

Very straight rods. Mirror finish and perfectly square clean cuts. Could not ask for more.
