It works, but is really only practical if you're cutting a lengthy food (e.g. carrots, scallions, etc.). With smaller items that require the use of your fingers to hold the food (e.g. baby potatoes, carrots, etc.), it gets in the way.

I’m always cutting my find while chopping up food so I purchased this in hopes of saving my fingers it’s a little on the big size it’s not snug on my finger that’s y I gave it a four star

My kids have used “kid friendly” knives for a while but I am ready for my oldest to start using real knives to help me. I thought this would eliminate my anxiety over the trial period but it actually just frustrates both of us. The loop is too far back on the thing so her fingers can’t grip the food correctly (she’s 8). I have even tried it and I got mixed results.We have tried it multiple times now and haven’t perfected anything. Feeling like it’s a dud.

It works to deflect the knife so you don’t cut your fingers. It is a little awkward at first, but gets easier.
