These work OK but you have to have the right neck jars.

These work great for fermenting. Use them all the time. I would buy more.

Lids & springs are dishwasher safe. Spring tension is just right.

Love this product! Keeps the ferment weighted and the venting has not leaked even when filled with brine!Cleaning is easy. Manufacturer recommends to not remove the silicone vent so I have cleaned in place. Just a well crafted, easy weight and vent lid product!!Don’t hesitate! Worth buying!

Love these so much. Used for making SO MUCH KRAUT.Only design flaw is the silicon valves. If you try remove them the sharp metal shears the tail and they don't work as well. Make sure you buy spares or don't touch them. they are kind of crucial!

The product is not as described. Seller states insert is silicone. It isn't silicone, as it badly distorted at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit. 100% silicone is stable at much higher temperatures.

I love these fermenting lids. I aleady have the springs that go with them. I did not have any leakage, no burping of the jar, It was just easy. I filled my jars, put the spring in and closed it up. I have made fermented snap beans, pickles, and sauerkraut... The only negative is that the little silicone valve came off and got lost on the ones that I have already. These were purchased as replacements due to that.

I bought these to ferment cucumber pickles in wide-mouth pint jars. After a couple of days, the spring was fully extended and my poor cucumbers were squished down into the bottom of the jar. These would be fine for sauerkraut, but not anything that you want to keep its shape. You also have to be extra careful cleaning them or you'll break the silicone thing trying to put it back in the lid.

Initially disappointed, the box was a plain box, it made me wonder if it was a genuine PickleHelix product. Couldn’t find jars to fit straight away. Made 1 jar of sauerkraut today and was pleased that the tops appear to be successful.

This is a great product. It works well. It is quite solid and made to last. The lids are a bit less solid and need to be used gently. Very happy with the design. The book that comes with the product is really sweet and almost made me forget about the price of the product in Canada; when you add the exchange rate, the shipping and the duty, it becomes cost prohibitive for Canadians—at least on my budget. I am very glad to have the one I ordered but can’t afford another. They need a Canadian distributor. I can highly recommend the product itself and wish I had more!!!

I just today opened my first jar of sauerkraut made with these lids and the tempered glass weights that Mason Jar Living sells here on amazon and I'm really happy with the sauerkraut I had with lunch. Delicious! I followed a recipe that was in a link provided by Trellis and Co. which made it super easy to put together a batch of kraut in a quart mason jar. I'm impressed with the lid. I don't have experience to draw from but all I can say that for my first time fermenting these lids made things really easy. I love that fact that they're stainless steel and that they'll last a while, hopefully the silicone valve will remain available for as long. The one thing that I have to mention, and the reason I can only give four stars, is that the lids I received are a little bit out of round. I measured one today and it's about 3//32 of an inch out of round. The lid works fine, conforming to the jar as it's tightened. It just bugs me when I put a lid on a glass jar and it binds a bit upon tightening. I think this is a great product. I've got six weights and three lids so I'll probably get three more. My first ferment went really well.UPDATE 8/2/17 I thought I would come back and update my review after using these for a few months. I originally bought 3 lids and found that I was running out of sauerkraut too often, so I bought 3 more and have been eating sauerkraut a couple times a day for a few months now. It's very healthy stuff, good for the mood also. I don't buy probiotics in pill form anymore. I'm impressed that I have not had one failure, not one bad batch with these lids. I've lost count on how many batches I've made, well over a dozen. It's important to leave a little room(1/2-3/4") at the top of the jar so the brine has a place to go instead of out the vent. I also add salt by weight, using a 2% ratio of salt to cabbage. If it's warm I use a 2.5% ratio and all has gone well. I'm using the method I learned from the website Trellis and Co. turned me on to(make sauerkraut dot com), basically for a quart jar it's 800 grams of cabbage to 16 grams of sea salt (I use Redmond Real Salt). Great product, can't wait to try out the new springs!9/9/19 update I've been using these new thicker (better!) lids along with the pickle helix for several batches of sauerkraut now and I am very happy with how these things work. I have not used my glass weights since I've tried the helix (springs) I still use the original Trellis + Co. lids I bought a couple of years ago and they work just fine. This new version lid is thicker and better, easier and more pleasant to use. Excellent product, well done Trellis + Co. !
