First off I know this was made for chimes but with prices of lantern stands I had to give this a shot. The material is SS metal and very solid (hoping the ss will withstand the weather). The three feet allows me to put the stand on the ground and turn to adjust on uneven land.

This is a beautiful, solid bar chimes stand. Its super easy to set up - just unfold the legs, place them down, put the upper section in and screw it tight. That's it - its ready to go! It folds up nicely and can be carried anywhere. I teach music to kids and the old stand has lived out its life span, and this is an excellent replacement. The old one wasn't nearly as solid as this one. This one is very strong, stable and durable and I'm super happy with it. And when I'm not using it for bar chimes, I might just use it as a lantern stand, although I wouldn't leave it outside in the weather. The chrome finish would probably suffer.
