Great Compass. Good Quality. Designed very well. Once you get past the cheap flimsy plastic case the compass is nice, especially for the price. Easy to adjust, strong enough for tough jobs and gentle enough for regular paper jobs. Highly recommended

Another MUST for elementary students! (gr 3-8) . Have you ever seen a student try to use one of those cheapo brass compasses that won't hold the radius? No wonder kids don't like math. Do yourself a favour as a math teacher and make these the right choice.Great tool to use in art classes also!

This was one of the best prices available for this compass. We use them in our geometry class and the extra leads are very helpful. The compass works great, as long as you keep the knobs tightened to secure both the lead and the point. Gives precise lines and stabilizes well for bisecting angles and lines.

Great product.The wheel controls the movement in BOTH directions, which means the arms can't get squeezed in or slip out. The wheel adjusts the position and it stays in that position until the wheel is adjusted again.Reliable, easy to use, and NO slip which results in predictable results every time.Good point on the pin.Extra leads in a small lead case.High quality product. Should last a lifetime.

I bought this for my 6th grader who needed a compass for geometry. He says it is fabulous and far better than anything any of his classmates have. It is well made from great materials (the silver is chromed metal; and the blue is a solid and high quality plastic). It adjusts easily, doesn't slip from its setting, and turns easily. This compass is a precision instrument and of a quality for superior to what your typical grade school compass. If this is their "student" compass, their professional compass must be something to see.

much better than what I could find locally. Does not open by itself like cheaper compasses.very sturdy. Only for very large circels it was not suitable, as the compass can only espand up untilthe end of the adjustment screw. Has a sharper needle included, which you may want to switch/flip to the less sharper onefor a younger student.
