The box was a little tattered but the contents were perfect. The backing pad is stiff and the pads are excellent. What I learned. Go easy on the lower grits lower speed and don't spend a lot of time on workpiece. 800 and up I used small tube of water clamped to workpiece. Stop looking at it and order it you can do it !

I like all the grits .has a good progression from coarse to very fine. I can get a gloss finish if I want to take that much time with it. Using them to polish cement tops.

Needed something to grind down some rough spots on a newly poured concrete countertop, and the pour had gone a bit wrong. Saw these recommended by a guy on YouTube for concrete countertop finishing. I LOVE THESE! Note that you can NOT use these with an angle grinder - it will spin them way too fast and overheat them. Got a simple $50 orbital polisher here on Amazon that I could control the speed with and they worked fantastic. Cut the time to complete dramatically and are very durable. After finishing ~18 linear feet of countertop still had enough life left to clean up about 150 square feet of old terrazo tile on a floor. Highly recommend.

I want to start out by saying that I haven't had a chance to fully use this product, so my start rating may be off a bit... could be 5 stars might stay at 2 depending on durability of the pads after I get to put them to good use. As of now it's a 2 because they sent the wrong / defective backing plate. Maybe they have Different backing pads with different thread sizes. If so then they either sent the wrong size, or sent a faulty one with this kit. The one I ordered was supposed to have 5/8 - 11 threads, but it doesn't screw on to my tools. The 7" backing pad that came with my sander / polisher (5/8 - 11) will hold these 4" pads but it's very difficult to center them and there is some wobble and vibration that I think would be eliminated with the 4" backing pad that was supposed to fit the tool.As far as the pads go? With the tiny bit of polishing I did, they seem to work great. I poured a 25.5" x 25.5" slab of Mortar mix and used these on a tiny corner. (I only did a small bit because of the vibration and wobble of it not being perfectly centered on my 7" back.) super smooth, I did the 50, 100, 200, and stopped there, but already amazingly smooth. Like a really nice satin finish with only the 200 grit pad. I can only imagine what it will be like once I'm able to continue with the proper backing plate.The 50 grit pad created some dust, if working inside you would probably want some sort of shroud / dust collection, but as I was outside I didn't worry about it.

Was easy to use.. would be nice if there would be step by step direction that what grit we should us or start with for granite, marble, etc for polishing...
